What day(s) did new episodes of Dragon Ball premier in your country?

Post by Dragon Ball Ireland » Mon Jul 20, 2026 1:56 am

In the UK and Ireland new episodes of original Dragon Ball, Z, GT, Kai and Super have always premiered weekdays Monday-Friday.

I think this is the case for most international territories but I have read some stories of places where episodes would debut on weekends too.

What was it like in your country?
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula will be writing

Here in Argentina (from what I remember at the moment):

* Dragon Ball Z was aired everyday at different timeslots (7AM/1PM/7PM/12AM) on Magic Kids.

* Dragon Ball Z Kai was initally aired on weekdays at 12PM (Argentina time) on Cartoon Network but then it was temporarily put on hiatus due to Yamamoto's scandal and when it returned, it got a new timeslot on Mondays to Saturdays at 12... AM (Argentina time)

* Dragon Ball Super was aired on weekdays with a rerun of the episodes in a mini-marathon on saturdays on Cartoon Network.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

In Greece new episodes of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z premiered every weekend on ANT1 so that means 2 new episodes per week.

Dragon Ball GT was released exclusively on DVD by DeAgostini with 2 new episodes coming out every 2 weeks (initially every other Wednesday and later every other Thursday).

As for Dragon Ball Super (episodes 1-27) new episodes aired from Monday to Friday on Nickelodeon so that means 5 new episodes per week.

Hello Irish Amigo it is good to know from you for sure.

In Mexico DB was broadcasted also Monday through Friday, it was in the year of 1993 but I don't have the date, I like DBZ the most (to the obsessive side I am very intense person) and from that one I know that September 2, 1997: Dragon Ball Z officially premiered on Televisa's Canal 5 (the original broadcast was scheduled for September 1 but was delayed due to a report by former President Ernesto Zedillo).

September 2, 1997: Dragon Ball Z officially premiered on Televisa's Canal 5 (the original broadcast was scheduled for September 1 but it was delayed due to a report by former President Ernesto Zedillo). So ... it started on a Tuesday, because of that reason, but eventually it was Monday through Friday, unless that there was a soccer match or a box match... mmmm... or titanic or some other movie premiere... mmm.... then No DBZ :(
