So what's in store for Dragonball games in 2026?

Post by budokaifanatic007 » Sun Jan 25, 2026 8:15 pm

So since the new Dragonball Game Project AGE 1000 will be released sometime in 2027, is it possible for us to get a filler game for 2026? If you notice a pattern, since about 2018 we get major games every two years with a smaller "filler" game, major DLC or port in between.

  • 2018: Dragon Ball FighterZ – PS4, Xbox One, Switch, PC
  • 2019: Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission – Switch, PC
  • 2020: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot – PS4/ Xbox One, PC
  • 2021: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (Nintendo Switch port)
  • 2022: Dragon Ball: The Breakers – PS4/PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC
  • 2023: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (next-gen release)/DLC– PS5/Xbox Series X
  • 2024: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC
  • 2025: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero (Switch version) – Nintendo Switch & Switch 2 , Gekishin Squadra
  • 2026: ????
  • 2027: Dragon Ball Game Project AGE 1000
let me know what you guys think :)

For all we know there might not be a new console game this year.

But if I were to guess, I could see Legends getting a console port potentially.

I wouldn’t mind it, I think a HD collection of the PS2 games with online would be way better though.

100% agree, as long the OST replacements are good

If there was a game coming out this year (besides a port of an existing game), they would've announced it instead of next year's game.

We got Kakarot DLC, and next are FighterZ and Sparking Zero DLCs.
Maybe a Nintendo Direct or Battle Hour could still announce a surprise smaller game?

I’ve heard Rumors that we were getting two game announcements this year but I’m not sure if that’s true. If we don’t get anything at battle hour in April then i guess this is one of those years they skip a main console release.

I think they are going to break the two-year rule for a big title.

Yea I think so too at this point. Maybe we will get a Budokai Reboot/Z4 in 2028. They had playable demos of Budokai/Z3 along with Sparking Meteor/Tenkaichi 3 at the Genkidamatsuri event so I see they still hold these games in high regard. 2028 would be 20 years since the last Budokai console game(Burst Limit in 2008).

When I was searching, I came across Blueprint Gaming and I liked it as an option

I could see a smaller project, remaster, or another DLC dropping in 2026 to keep the momentum going! A Budokai Tenkaichi collection would be a dream!

We are getting the Sparking Zero Expansion, so that should count for something.

I highly recommend you try Team BT4's Tenkaichi 4 game; it's a heavily modded version of Tenkaichi 3 that not only adds new content from Super and missing content from the original trilogy, it also fixes issues such as characters having the same move sets.

Theres an insider that said XV3 might not be the only new game.

I highly doubt the SZ expansion will count as a full game for 2026 so maybe that other game is a port of an existing game or a smaller game like Gekishin Squadra.

So..... there's most likely no new Dragon Ball console game coming this year and with the possibility of XV3 launching in late 2027, we'd be looking at roughly a three-year gap between major console releases. The closest we've had in the modern era was the 2-year, 9-month gap between Kakarot (1/17/20) and Breakers (10/14/22).

Is "Kakarot" like a modern "Legacy of Goku" in terms of gameplay: leveling up as you fight random enemies in real time and travel around the globe?

I see it goes on sale fairly often on Switch and I'm curious about it.
On hiatus.

I found LOG way more fun than Kakarot.

A remastered Budokai collection or another Sparking! Zero expansion would make perfect sense while everyone waits for Project AGE 1000.

It is quite likely that the 2026 gap will be filled by a smaller project set in the Dragon Ball universe such as a remaster, DLC, or a dedicated spin-off. The series has already established a rhythm of alternating between large-scale and smaller-scale projects. It is also interesting to compare this with gaming platforms based on bonuses and rankings. That list of bonuses CasinosAnalyzer's Clubhouse Casino offer overview represents a completely different gaming ecosystem one that is tried, tested, and reliable. Hopefully, 2026 will bring fans something exciting before the AGE 1000 era begins!
FighterZ and Sparking Zero DLC would be great surprises. A smaller announcement during Direct or Battle Hour seems possible too!

I could see a Budokai collection being ported to PS5/PC/XBOX to keep us content till XV3. Pyramid could handle the porting like they did last time BUT an online mode would be super clutch.
