DRAGON BALL
1999-2002: Dragon Ball premiered in its entirety on RTL II between August 30, 1999 and August 23rd the next year, at an unspecified point in 2001 a rerun began and ended June 5, 2002. Dragon Ball may have premiered September 4, 2000* on TV3 in Switzerland. Austria also got a local broadcast of Dragon Ball on ORF1, which began on January 8, 2001, the show was briefly taken off the air for the Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Anton on February 7, 2001. Dragon Ball was taken off the air for good on ORF1 sometime that year reportedly because parents complained about it being too perverse for their children. Germany, Switzerland and Austria all aired the German dub. There were two more reuns on RTL II during this period, one lasting from December 27, 2001 to March 12 the next year and another from June 25, 2002 to December 20th the same year.
KAZE released Dragon Ball in 20-30 episode boxsets, although release dates are not known:The dub was produced in Cologne by Splendid Synchron GmbH under Cay-Michael Wolf and Charlotte Luise Brings' direction.

2003-2006: Dragon Ball had one more rerun on RTL II before going off the air for several years that lasted between January 7 and February 12, 2003.
2007-2013: Dragon Ball had two runs on Animax between June 5th and November 2nd 2007 and later March 2nd and April 12th 2009. Dragon Ball returned to RTL II for three runs in 2011, one lasting from January 3rd to April 19th Mondays-Fridays, another from March 24th that year going all the way to April 14, 2013 on Sundays and the third run that year went from October 1st to December 17th on Saturdays.
2014-2022: Dragon Ball had three broadcasts on ProSieben Maxx, first was between March 27, 2014 and April 3, 2015, with reruns lasting from April 26, 2015 to June 30th the same year and again from November 26, 2025 to April 21, 2026. Dragon Ball also aired on RTL You between May 31, 2016 and June 30, 2016.
2023-2026:Crunchyroll released 6 Dragon Ball Blu-Rays with dates as follows:Dragon Ball made its return to RTL II on March 5, 2023 with a preview of the first 4 episodes and then had three more runs on the channel between April 16, 2023 and September 17th the same year, the next year episodes 31-41 were shown from March 30th to the following day and episodes 84-127 was shown from September 1st to December 15th.

DRAGON BALL Z
DRAGON BALL GT2001-2003: Dragon Ball Z arrived on RTL II August 27, 2001 and ended June 6, 2002. Reruns from the first episode to episode 172 between June 6, 2002 and December 20th that year. Episodes 201-291 rerun between October 4, 2003 and March 6, 2004 with the exception of January 24th where episode 268 was skipped and The Battle Against Cell aired instead. Next rerun was episodes 88-107 between March 13, 2004 and April 10th the same year.
The dub was not produced in Cologne, like original Dragon Ball, but instead it was done in Berlin by MME Studios.
2005-2006: Dragon Ball Z aired on Tele5 between March 5, 2005 and July 15, 2006.
2007-2010: KAZE released Dragon Ball Z in 19-35 episode boxsets with release dates as follows:2011-2020: Dragon Ball Z returned to RTL II with a rerun of the first 162 episodes between October 2, 2011 and April 21, 2013.

The first Dragon Ball Z TV special aired June 11th and 12th as well as December 17th and 19th 2021. The second TV special aired three times in 2021 (June 11th, December 17th and 18th).
2024-2026: Crunchyroll released Dragon Ball Z Blu-Rays in Germany on these dates:
DRAGON BALL KAI2006-2008: Dragon Ball GT premiered October 30, 2006 on RTL II with two new episodes premiering every weekday with the exception of November 1st. Episodes 29, 38, 46-47, 54-57 and 59-63 were not aired. The final episode aired on December 6th that year.

DRAGON BALL SUPER2015-2018: Dragon Ball Kai had its debut on Prosieben Maxx on November 16, 2015 and ended January 31, 2017. Rerun from episode 43 lasted from February 1st that year to April 21st. The Final Chapters ran on the same channel between April 24, 2017 and August 24th the same year. The Final Chapters was rerun from its first episode the next day to the last on November 25th the same year.

DRAGON BALL DAIMA2016-2020: Dragon Ball Super was first available to stream on Daisuki in Germany through a simulcast on October 23, 2016. The show had its initial run on Prosieben Maxx between September 4, 2017 and September 27, 2019. After a rerun of the final episode on October 1st the series was rerun from episode 53 on March 23, 2020, which lasted until May 19th that year when the final episode was aired once again.

2021-2024: A rerun of Dragon Ball Super from episode 53 followed between January 20, 2021 and January 31st the next year. Further reruns, which began from the first episode were held between May 3, 2022 and August 8th the same year, April 6, 2023 and July 15th that year.
2025-2026: The two most recent reruns of Dragon Ball Super started with episode 1 on July 7, 2025 ending with the final episode on November 27th that year as well as another rerun from the first episode on April 21, 2026 up to episode 63 on July 2nd that year. On November 5, 2025 Dragon Ball Super became available to stream on ADN and the next summer on Disney+.
DRAGON BALL MOVIES2024-2026: Dragon Ball Daima began streaming subbed on ADN and Crunchyroll on October 11, 2024. The German dub is set to premiere late summer 2026 on TOGGO Plus. The dub will be recorded in Münich.

2010-2016: Movies 1-3 aired on RTL II between December 21st and 23rd 2010. Universum Film released a standard Blu-Ray of Battle of Gods on standard and collector's edition Blu-Ray on August 21, 2015 and another collector's edition on September 9, 2016. At some point it became available on Prime Video and Maxdome. Resurrection "F" was released theatrically from September 8-11th followed by a standard edition and a 3D limited edition Blu-Ray on December 9th the same year by AV Visionen as well as a streaming release on Crunchyroll.
2017-2019: All the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super movies have aired on Prosieben Maxx several times over the years. Resurrection 'F' aired on April 7th, September 29th and October 2nd of 2017 as well as August 31st and September 1st the next year. A marathon of Dragon Ball Z movies 1-9 and 1-5 was held on January 1st and January 2nd 2019 respectively, the next day it was Dragon Ball Z movies 6-8 and 9 the day after. Broly got a theatrical release on January 29, 2019. Dragon Ball Z movies 10-13 premiered on Prosieben Maxx on April 19, 2019 with all 13 movies being marathoned on December 26th that year. AV Visionen released a steelbook for Resurrection "F" on December 5th that year, the same day Broly was released on a standard and limited edition Blu-Ray by KAZE.
2020-2022: Broly received a steelbook Blu-Ray release from KAZE on May 25, 2020. Resurrection “F” aired on ProSieben Maxx June 12th, 13th as well as November 27th and 28th 2020. The next year it aired on June 11th. Broly aired multiple times on Prosieben Maxx, including June 19th and 20th as well as December 4th and 5th, 2020 and June 4, 2021. Super Hero was released theatrically by Crunchyroll on August 30, 2022.
2023-2026: ProSieben MAXX continued to broadcast most of the movies up to the present day. On April 7, 2023 there was a marathon of Dragon Ball Z movies 1-11. The next day Battle of Gods was aired followed by movies 7-10, and the following day it was movie 11. Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Z movie 5 were rerun on April 12th. Dragon Ball Z movie 6 was rerun April 14th, followed the next day by Resurrection “F” Dragon Ball Z movie 12 and Dragon Ball Z movie 13 the following day. Super Hero was released on standard Blu-Ray by Crunchyroll May 19, 2023 and aired on ProSieben MAXX May 9th and 10th and October 25, 2023.
On May 9, 2024 several Dragon Ball Z movies were rerun, namely Resurrection “F” followed by Dragon Ball Z movies 9-14. As of 2026 there have been multiple movie marathons on May 1st (Dragon Ball Z movie 15 followed by movies 1-6), May 3rd (Dragon Ball Z movie 7 followed by 1-4), May 5th (both Cooler movies), May 25th (Dragon Ball Z movies 7-11). Towards the end of the month there were days with 1 movie such as May 26th (Dragon Ball Z movie 13), May 28th (Dragon Ball Z movie 8 ) and May 31st (Dragon Ball Z movie 11). As for the original series movies, Dragon Ball movies 1-3 were broadcast on RTL II on July 19, 2025.
?: At some point Dragon Ball Super Broly and Super Hero became available on RTL+ Premium, Prime Video, Apple TV and Crunchyroll (Super Hero only).
Not sure of the dates Dragon Ball was aired on the block, but Pokito launched in Germany on July 5, 2004 and last aired on August 29, 2008. Pokito was a Monday-Friday block on RTL II.
Germany was also a place Akira Toriyama made a rare public appearance at the Leipzig Book Fair on March 27, 2004, four years later an interview appeared in Tokyopop.
