Ocean Dub closed captioning?

Seeing the latest post of the main page made me realized that I don't think anyone had backed up the close captioning from the ocean dub nor does the DVD's provide any subtitles. I was wondering if anyone has worked on this in the past?

At the risk of repeating stuff that you already know, the Pinoeer DVDs don't have closed captions either, but the corresponding VHS releases claim to have them on the packaging (Closed Captions and Subtitles are distinct features on DVDs. Closed captions generally aren't supported by modern equipment but, as they're stored as actual text, they can be more useful when ripped). Also, The Saga of Goku and Dead Zone have image-based SDH DVD subtitles for their dubs, which are incorrectly advertised as CCs.

It might be worth keeping an eye out on the Internet Archive, as people are uploading all sorts of retail and off-air VHS captures using the RF method, complete with the Closed Caption data in HTML format. I think that possibly some DVD recorders might have captured the CCs from a VHS or broadcast source as well, although you'd loose them once the video was re-encoded as AIUI they're part of the MPEG2 stream.

Thats good to know! I figure it might be worth backing up so they can be used (or converted) for other released like the DVD for communities that may need them.
