Interesting to note: there's a shot of Son Goku using the Kaiou-ken Blue in the trailer, which means that they won't be removing it to better match Toyotarou's comic. I'm curious how many more instances of Kaiou-ken Blue we'll see, then.
There's a lot of really bad shots left over from the 2015 series, but I'm hoping that that new shot of Gohan from the Golden Freeza arc means that he'll get a cool battle scene against Freeza. Let me see Takahashi or Shida animating Gohan getting his ass beat!!
Good eye for spotting the Kaio-ken. Wasn't even something I was looking out for when watching the trailer.
I wonder how much closer this is actually going to be to the manga, if at all... Hmm.

I think that the claims of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus being like the comic are probably heavily misinterpreted. I don't see any reason to do a ton of overhauls to make the series match Toyotarou's comic. Take what the 2015 animated series started and build on it with a few strategic new shots. Like, the original use of Kaiou-ken Blue against Hit was terribly animated. Completely redoing those cuts from scratch with talented animators who have a heathy schedule will give the scene the oomph that it lacked during the original broadcast.
The fact that Goku is using Super Saiyan God against Freeza makes me wonder if we might get Super Saiyan Goku Black for a short fight at some point, just for funsies.
Confirmed by the official site that the first episode will be shown at the New York comic con panel at October 8... I'm pretty sure it's the first time they do something like this with a Dragon Ball animation, and I don't think I like it but whathever.

The official sites still says "more faithful representation of the original manga". I do personally interpret that as simply referring to the pacing and eliminaitng anime only scenes to make it feel more like the manga just like Kai did though, but given the way it is written, I don't blame anyone who still thinks that it's going to feature a lot of shots based on the manga.
My thoughts on the trailer:
1-The confirmation that indeed the three arcs will be indeed a single story under the "Beerus" label. And it adds more weight to the rumor that it will end in February and it won't cover the Zamasu and ToP arcs.
2-Okay this time I'm pretty sure most of the trailer didn't consist of any takes from the old anime that only went through addition of filters and small changes. A lot of remade scenes completely redrawn over the original or even given a new perspective.
3-Though, at least in my case, there is clear difference between the leftovers of the old anime, and the new shots, the new ones truly looking like a new anime in style, while the old shots still look like a older anime, but this is very likely because I have the old anime visuals in memory, so it creates the "uncanny valley" feeling.
4-For The Golden Freeza arc, Base Goku vs FF Freeza seems inspired by the movie to me. But a important detail. I think the shot of SSJ Gohan is very much likely the scene where he's powering up for Goku to sense his ki. Which could confirm my theory that a lot of what the old anime added to the story will be kept. But also important to note that there's no Tagoma in the trailer, only Shisami, which can imply that Freeza will get rid of him in space just like he does in the movie. The consequence being also no Ginyu in the story (to the delight of many)
5-Back then, when this remake series was just a rumor, or right after its announcement at Genkidamatsuri, there was also a rumor that the first episode would have Goku training in the middle of his work just like he does in the manga. Well, in this trailer, we see the shot of Goku saving Goten, and he's in base form just like in the 2015 anime version. In the manga he's SSJ. So maybe the scene will be the same as before, or it will have the training from the manga, but Goku won't transform, or don't use SSJ to save Goten.
6-The surprise / genuine new content here to me being the shot of Goku transforming into SSJG in his Whis gi in what seems to be the Golden Freeza arc as well. I thought SSJG after Beerus and before ToP would only be possible in the Champa arc, and obviously something that didn't exist before. So this potentially refutes the idea I’ve been harping on since then, that this remake would merely improve or redo scenes that already existed in the 1.0 anime, without offering anything genuinely new. SSJB Kaioken is still there though, plus Piccolo using Makankosappo and clones which is also exclusive to his fight against Frost in the anime, so... still keeping my expectations very low as that SSJG shot can very well be one of the very few surprises.
But I really like the form showing up in that arc, even though I think Goku going from base to Regular Golden SSJ forms, then SSJG makes no sense.
7 (Edit)- The Champa tournament arena is still exactly the same as the one from old anime. So my hope to see the arena from the manga in animated format dies here

At the Genkidamatsuri event, they revealed the Beerus arc. Games Battle Hour they revealed the Gold Freeza arc. Now maybe on Comic-con they'll reveal the Champa arc. One New Arc revealed per-event lol. Just a guess though.

I believe there will be nothing in September and we'll have to wait til October, it was already confirmed for that month the Comic Con panel where they'll talk more about the show, probably where they'll be showing the next and final trailer.

✪ Good Afterlife to Toriyama, the Ultimate Consciousness of the Dragon Ball World. Good Mortal Life to Toyotaro, the Successor. ✪
I've never interpreted 'original manga' to refer to Toyotarou's comic, though. The term 'original manga' is only ever used by the production committee members to refer to Dragon Ball (1984).
Trailer looks good, I like how the touched up animation and new scenes look.
If everything up to Champa will fall under the "Dragon Ball Super : Beerus" heading I hope that we get 1 Blu-Ray set for all three arcs. Could happen since Daima wasn't split into two Parts.
Also interesting it says "Broadcasting and streaming begins", I hope like Daima it will go out on as many streaming services internationally as possible after the Fuji TV premier.

I absolutely love what I'm seeing; you can really tell that Super 1.0 was nothing more than an unfinished project. I really hope they get to Zamasu and Jiren sooner than later. This remake may not resolve all my issues with Super, but at least I'll be able to say it's a well produced product that doesn't look down on its viewers in the same way Super 1.0 did.
Putting everything up to the Champa arc under Beerus makes sense, I guess Zamasu and the Tournament of Power's remakes will have their own banner. I wonder if, for consistency's sake, they'll do anything with Broly, like a director's cut with deleted stuff added back, or doing that but splicing it into a 6 episodes series.
Seems unlikely, but the ending leads directly into the Galactic Patrol, if they manage to remake everything before Moro, you watch the Remakes, the Broly movie/series and boom, you go straight to the Galactic Patrol.
I'm gonna watch it because why not but I don't really think it looks good.
Animation still looks stiff and not improved at all, the drawings are bad modern Yamamuro, and the filter doesn't cover the shit. I wonder, too, how awkward the pacing and music placement will feel. And I'm worried about the voice acting considering how much older the cast is. Are they gonna use the original lines or redub it?
I'm curious about the new scenes, at least. Whether they're just fluff or if they add something new to the story.
Oof!
Nozawa sounds rough here, to the point it gets distracting how much she forces her voice. This would have been a great moment to recast her (and a lot of the Japanese cast).
Damn! I have noticed that we are going all in, with Champa foreshadowing like in manga and everything. I wonder, will they update the Universe 6 with more characters in attendance and new designs for the tournament stage? Damn, if they went the extra mile, I'd rewatch the same story for billionth time with joy!

I have noticed this in Sparking Zero. She holds up, but it's more in the vein like damn, she's amazing at 90 years old and that she can pull it off in such an extent still! Following up with wonder, that she had a new lines for SZ, Super remake rerecording lines again and follow up in like next two years, that's a ton on her plate!
Damn, I love Nozawa and can't imagine anyone else, but of course the performance is different than it was 40 years ago, vastly.
But time is ruthless and I am not ready to have different Son Goku or lose Masako Nozawa

If only the redrwas weren't following Yammamuro's style...
I'm still excited for this because I absolutely want to see an improved version of Super, but it could have been so much more.
I'm surprised it also seems to go up to the Universe 6 Tournament, though I'm afraid for what it means when we get to the Tournament of Power, when you could really see a lot of unique animator's artstyles shine, if they get Yammamuro-fied it will be super disappointing.

Her Kid Goku in the Kakarot DLC sounded painful and awkward. Yeah, she is doing great "for her age", but the problem is that the product starts to degrade because of it. I had the feeling that the new cast in for the younger version of the characters was a test run for replacement for the next show. Guess not.
I don't care that much about the first two arcs since we got the definitive versions in the movies, but I'm curious about the changes (even if I don't like some of them, like SSG in the Golden Freeza arc) and I'm looking forward to the Universe 6 arc.
After so many years, almost a decade, of thinking and hearing the anime is dead, we are now a month away from its return. Sadly, we have to go over the entire thing from the beginning, but still, there's weekly Dragon Ball again.
I can see the improvements, but I don't think it warrants being aired again as if it is a new series. Everytime they showed something from RoF, aside from the MCs, I felt I was watching the old thing, all those Freeza goons shots...
You can really tell that the project isn't a big priority given that it wasn't allowed a dedicated staff to simply redo it from scratch. I think that that's probably the worst part of the entire experience—it shows that any improvements will always be limited and not the best that they can be.
It's going to be interesting to see how the Universe Six arc is handled. Given that it's fourteen episodes, I assume that they will just shave it down by one or two episodes to fit in twenty-six weeks of timeslots until ONE PIECE is ready to air again.

I agree. It's fun to see/learn the differences but I'll get those from youtube clips. Having to rewatch the Beerus and Freeza stuff for a second time as I already had seen the movies was bad enough. Here's hoping that if hey adapt more they at least remove the pedohilic elements from the show, which were incredibly gross.

Have moderate expectations, this version will mainly be a cosmetic update with some editing changes, they won't be remaking stages or adding characters from scratch.
It's basically a glorified take on the Gundam movie trilogy. Although, those had bigger story changes, so I suppose even then, that trilogy is better lol
I really wish the production committee would do the Future Trunks arc as a movie redone from scratch. Goku Black, Zamasu and Trunks would look so much more pretty if the animation character designers was not Yamamuro Tadayoshi.
