A surprising turn of events for Dragon Ball fans in Germany: The planned TV premiere of Dragon Ball DAIMA on TOGGO Plus has been abruptly removed from the schedule. The previously listed date of May 4, 2026, has disappeared from the broadcast plan. This means the anticipated free-to-air broadcast is off the table for now.

According to the current program schedule, the entry for the broadcast of Dragon Ball DAIMA has been completely removed. The series will therefore not be shown on TOGGO Plus on May 4, 2026. Whether this is simply a programming change, a postponement of licensing plans, or a complete withdrawal of the series from the lineup is currently unknown. No official details regarding the reasons have yet been released.

A new date for a possible TV premiere of Dragon Ball DAIMA on German free-to-air television has not yet been set. Fans who were hoping for a broadcast on TOGGO Plus will therefore have to wait and hope for streaming services or future announcements. Once a new broadcast slot is confirmed, it is likely to generate great interest in the Dragon Ball community.

It seems that the German fans are very disappointed with the dubbing of the first episode.

Did they change a bunch of voices again?

Yes, the voices are new.

I also heard that they censored Mr. Popo. You can hear him speaking but he’s been cut out and can't be seen anywhere in the episode.

I was told someone involved with the German dub confirmed theres an uncut version, so that will probably be released on home video. For what its worth Mr Popo is mentioned in the credits.

That's a weird mix. The only actors that could return from Berlin are Krillin and Piccolo' current voice actors. Neva's and Babidi's new actor is a famous voice actor from Cologne who already worked in the original Dragon Ball series as Shu.

The rest of the cast is from Münich, which confirms the Synchronkartei topic I shared months ago here.

While I never expected for Tommy Morgenstern to return as Goku, it's a pity they didn't consider Frank Schaff at least. I mean, he works at both Berlin and Münich.

Now, about the censorship, yeah, it's a pain in the ass that it's still happening in 2026. Kami knows what else they also have censored in the following episodes.

Hopefully this censorship doesn't happen in the upcoming Italian dub as well.
A little too late but yeah, I've been officially active in Kanzenshuu for ten years :)

Thats great. Hopefully we get dubs in the other European languages Super was dubbed in that are currently missing for Daima.

Off the top of my head we still need dubs in:
  • Basque
  • Catalan
  • Danish
  • French
  • Greek
  • Hungarian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (not counting Brazilian)

Can't believe there still isn't a French release lined up yet, they've always been among the first to dub Dragon Ball content.

Well, there's the sad passing of Legrand and with it the demand from well established voice actors that a certain person play Vegeta. Toei Europe also asked several voice actors to audition for roles they earlier had and things seem to have stalled after that. Not to mention Daima was heavily critized within French fan community so now there's doubt within the fanbase it'll even be dubbed.

I've got a feeling that it's being dubbed but not in France but in... Belgium.

It happened with Germany where they sent it to Munich instead of Berlin and seems it will be also the case with Italy.

Germany has had a tragic history with changing dubbing cast so much.
What is the case with Italy? Unwanted recasts and making dubbing cheaper?
