What are you hoping to see after XV3?

I usually do these threads yearly to see what the community thinks/wants/hopes is next after the current game. XV3 was recently confirmed to be releasing early 2027 so that means whatever Is next is either in planning stages or early development. I’ve heard rumors of a sequel to Kakarot floating around(I’m not sold) and a FZ2(also not sold). XV3 will obviously be supported for years to come so I doubt another Dimps game will be in the cards for 2028. I personally see a completely new IP coming about, what do you all think ?

No particular wishes except that all games bring something new and add to the franchise, as I always say. Be it with a debut of a new character and/or new stories to tell. As long as Dragon Ball Z isn't unnecessarily retold for the gazillionth time, we are cool.

I would also not oppose a Mario Kart, Roguelike and Yu-Gi-Oh! types of games with Dragon Ball, those are something entirely new and refreshing to tackle. A new crossover game should be in the cards too, I want to beat the crap out of Dragon Ball characters with characters from other franchises, much like Jump Force but without all the drama that one got around it (and with the possibility to play as Bardock, Minato Namikaze and Monkey D. Dragon, please! )

I want a game with a unique storyline featuring the regular cast like in Fighterz that isn't Raditz to Buu.

I like being able to customize outfits without it affecting the character's stats. (Let me play as F arc or EoZ Goku).

Intuitive controls, even if some moves take steps to learn. Character models that look good so I'm not taken out of the game seeing them at certain angles.

Since Sparking Zero made a bajillion dollars I think there is money in actually making a Budokai 4.

The other title people love from back in the day was the Legacy of Goku 2/Buus Fury and you could do a DBS version of that but I think it makes more sense to do a Kakarot 2.

And of course Fighterz 2 I will throw money at. That's still the best Dragon Ball fighting game to me.

I too hope for a Budokai 4 but 2029 or 2030 would be the most realistic timeframe UNLESS…that 2nd game besides XV3 rumor turns out to be another Dimps title(highly doubt it). I think it will eventually happen though. Wouldn’t ArcSys be busy supporting GG and Tokon? 2028 would be the 10th Anniversary of FighterZ so maybe?

I’d love this, Budokai 2 tried something like this but I feel it could be better executed on modern hardware. XV3 seems to be breaking that cycle of Raditz-Buu with that last screenshot of Goku meeting Bulma in the latest trailer.

I think we'll get a second major expansion pack for Sparking Zero sometime next year, be it in the summer or fall. There seems to be a lot of rumors going around about a Kakarot 2, so that could be next. Between Super getting remade and getting new arcs, a Kakarot-like game seems logical.

Sparking Zero Meteor ? I hope they add more game modes. I’m not too sure we’ll get a Kakarot 2 but anything’s possible.

Yep; there's plenty of content they can use to design another expansion around, be it game modes, characters, stages, etc.

I think if we end up getting another 2-D fighter from Dimps, it'll be a Budokai 4, although they could technically carry over elements from Burst Limit. I remember thinking back when the first Raging Blast was announced that Bandai was going to have Dimps and Spike rotate releases every other year like how Call of Duty was handled to give each studio enough time to develop their game, but that didn't happen.

Don’t get me wrong I’d also prefer a Budokai 4, it’s just that Burst Limit ended with a cliff hanger. A Burst Limit 2 would’ve probably been amazing. Imagine the Buu saga and GT with those graphics? Makes me mad we never got it. I also wouldn’t be surprised that the team that co developed SF4 was the team

Well seeing as Bandai parked three domains for another Budokai trilogy, A new Budokai entry is possible.

I watch the domain every now and then to see if any updates are made: https://whois.domaintools.com/budokai4.com(it was updated last week!). Xenoverse fans were doing the same thing a few years ago and now we have XV3…just have to wait and see.
