The anime will be coming to Disney+ in Latin America and Canada; Toei really wants it to be available everywhere, unlike the 2015 anime.

That's correct, the first episode should be just over so now's the time to look for reactions on social media.Chuquita wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2026 9:59 am They're playing the first episode at noon EST at NYCC today, right?
Do you have any info about international non-English broadcasts about the Dragon Ball anime or manga translations/editions? Please message me. Researching for a future book with Dragon Ball scholar Derek Padula will be writing

It's so incredibly stupid to just screen a single episode. The differences across the Beerus arc won't be that large, one episode is hardly enough to use as a hype tactic lol

Looking at the reactions on Twitter, it generally stays faithful to Episode 1 of Super, but there are some changes and additions.
It seems they added Goku’s mental battle, which is exclusive from the manga, and emphasized just how menacing Beerus is.
Also, the opening was praised (and apparently Nakatsuru worked on it).
As for the panel at NYC, there wasn't anything new or interesting besides the episode preview, so you're not missing anything.

So, apparently Goku in the first episode
Well, this is interesting. There's a lot of concepts from the manga that are actually cool and I hope they get adapted. Fingers crossed that they do the Black arc and include SSJ1 Black so he's finally playable in videogames.

Akira Toriyama, DBS vol.4 joint interview with ToyotaroAt his core Zamasu is good like Shin, though I guess you could say he was so fastidious that it backfired. But you know, for this "Future Trunks Arc" you had to depict Zamasu and Trunks' inner conflict, right? If this was back when I was drawing the manga myself then I doubt if I could have done it. I mean, I'm not very good at depicting the characters' psychology on the page. So this all came together because now I only have to think up the story. [...] On my own, I doubt I would have been able to express Zamasu's fall to the dark side.

I am really liking the opening and everything that's leaked so far; this functions more like a remake than a remaster.

It's decent from what we can see so far. I'm sure the direct feed will be a lot better as an experience.
Still, this series is stuck with that fuck-ass Lego hair and it ruins the experience so much lol

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound very good lol it's like the most generic modern anime opening I could think of, no idea why they're all going for this style nowdays.

I don't see what is generic about the new opening about Dragon Ball Super Remake. In my opinion I think it is good. The Accountant wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 6:47 amAnd what style would that be?PhantomSaiyan wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 6:14 amUnfortunately, it doesn't sound very good lol it's like the most generic modern anime opening I could think of, no idea why they're all going for this style nowdays.
Not every young people has better taste, just like not every old people has better taste. Some old things are better than new and vice versa.

Generic modern jrock. There's literally thousands of songs that sound exactly like this.
Maybe you don't watch much anime, but it's obvious to anyone that does that almost every anime opening under the sun sounds like this nowdayssuper michael wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 7:18 am I don't see what is generic about the new opening about Dragon Ball Super Remake. Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Knowing what comes after Beerus' arrival, this remake/remaster should be pretty good. Back in 2015, the series was still finding its footing and nobody really knew where the story or its characters were headed in the long run. Now, with hindsight, they know where to slow things down, where to pick up the pace, and what to emphasize or cut.
That said, I can't help but fear that stupid stuff like "Beerus sama, you had to use 70% of your power" might still make it into the final product.

I’m still wondering how they’re going to adapt an arc originally planned to cut 14 episodes into just six. It’s not as simple as cutting the material down to roughly the length of a movie and expecting the pacing to work perfectly. There’s a different way of telling stories in film and television, and each medium has its own particularities. This becomes even more apparent when the first episode barely begins to cover the content of the original movie.
For example, in the original series (I never thought I’d find myself referring to Dragon Ball Super this way), they dedicate two episodes to reintroducing Goku and Vegeta while Beerus goes around causing trouble. That’s why I find it strange that they’ve decided to combine two segments that originally served as separate moments in different episodes. It’s like combining Gohan’s adventures with the robot and the dinosaur he befriends into a single episode. It just doesn’t feel organic.
I mean, they could have simply recreated Beerus and Whis’s entire introduction as it appears in the movie. After all, wasn’t the whole point to be “faithful” to Toriyama’s script? Another option would have been to draw from Toyotarō’s manga and adapt Beerus’s introduction from there, where the God of Destruction is reminded of the Super Saiyan God because of the name of a vegetable soup. That would have been a more efficient way to convey the same information while better suiting a more direct, to-the-point approach.

A few creative uses of new dialogue and new shots should help the process. The Gundam movie trilogy from 1981-1982 was mostly just cobbled together from the TV series, with the majority of the new animation and plot beats being in the third film. This re-edit actually has new shots created for the first episode, so that will make establishing the series easier, too.

To be honest, one of the best things about the original anime was the two opening themes and the 11 ending themes, there was a lot of variety, and I doubt the new remake will ever top that.PhantomSaiyan wrote: Fri Oct 09, 2026 6:14 amUnfortunately, it doesn't sound very good lol it's like the most generic modern anime opening I could think of, no idea why they're all going for this style nowdays.
Re: The TV Anime Series Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be broadcast on Fuji TV in the fall of 2026
Since this isn't even two cours long, I doubt they they'd spend the resources to do more than one Opening and Ending theme. That being said, pulling a Chainsaw Man and doing a new Ending theme every episode would have been cool as hell.
Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball Super: Beerus make their money in part by promoting bands. The label that Toei Animation tends to work with has a new song they want to promote and they give an anime to promote that song. It's a typical practice, especially in an era where there are less toy sponsors to fund anime with. Occasion, we still get anison Openings and Endings (Dragon Ball Kai), but that's just not going to be super likely as things move forward.
