You are SO right.TAS wrote:Not if a larger majority of the fans only care about the English version.Yeah, just the first disc. Not the full release. It leaves people wanting more, i.e. buying the full Season, the same way the Blu-ray movie leaves them wanting the Japanese track and the other movie.
Those people like myself who prefer the Japanese version are a niche audience, so like out of a million people that get that bonus disc only 100 would care that it doesn't have the Japanese track, and of that small % of people you're not even going to have most of them going out to get the new version of DZ just for the Japanese, cause chances are they already have a Japanese version of DZ that they're perfectly fine with.
Thought you mentioned the dub, not the script. Like wouldn't the fact that Ocean Group used professional voice actors for DBZ while FUNi used their own employees and local talent (from Texas) be a big factor in what's done well or not?FUNi's redub of that and World's Strongest use the same script.
Note I'm not talking about FUNi in it's entirety just DBZ FUNi, as their other properties like Full Metal Alchemist are handled extremely well, which just baffles me, ie why is it that FMA is handled on the same level as other good dubs or seems very proffessional, or the voices seem natrual or whatever, while DBZ is always hanlded like a 4 year old or something. Mike and Meri have talked about this on the podcast before, they (FUNi) do well with all other properties except DBZ, even 10 years later they still handle it poorly (and I'm not talking about the dub, I'm talking about every aspect of it)

Oh ok thanks and what do you mean with ' if people thought they looked flawed in standard def DVD' . Are you trying to say they will look even worse?Captain Awesome wrote:No, it's just a standard def dvd.shotkeeper wrote:Hey if PS3 had Dead zone in HD. Did the Xbox have the season 1 disc in HD?
I thought the Xbox didn't support bllu ray.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the season sets in HD, if people thought they looked flawed in standard def...
Yes, because the flaws would be even more noticable then. I'm starting to think Funi won't use this "remastered" footage for a Blu-Ray season set release.shotkeeper wrote:Oh ok thanks and what do you mean with ' if people thought they looked flawed in standard def DVD' . The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

You guys are crazy. The clean and crisp picture will be so amazing, the flaws will be nothing compared to what you will get. I mean the flaws:
Widescreen : depends on your liking
Broken Lines : true, they suck, but hey the quality would be amazing.
Those are the only flaws in Animation. If I remember it correct.
Sound and other options have nothing to do with the motion.
But who knows they might use something else for blu ray releases.

I'm very satisfied with the Season sets they've been releasing recently, but a Blu-ray release would be AMAZING!!!! I don't mind the widescreen... but seeing as they might release GT in 4:3... I'm a little unhappy.shotkeeper wrote:You guys are crazy. The clean and crisp picture will be so amazing, the flaws will be nothing compared to what you will get. I mean the flaws:
