That's because he IS a cricket. Look at him from stage 1 (out of the cocoon), then look at those wings once he ... I forget the word in english. "Hatches" or grows or something.

But sprouting is what vegetables do. There must be a different word for insects! Butterflies don't sprout from a cocoon.

I've always heard "Wings sprout from their backs", or grow... But butterflies do hatch from their coccoons.


Maybe this is why English is such a bitch to learn.

Well, Xyex is right. He is more of a cicada. And especially in Japan, cicadas are mentioned a lot in imagery and are often used to show what time of year it is and how hot it is. That's what that buzzing is that you hear in the background in anime on a warm summer day.

That's right, I remember now. I was cleaning out the buddy list and I couldn't frickin remember a few of the identities. That was one of them. Wow, that was from a loooong time ago, I don't think I ever used it, I just added it because I add everyone I ever spoke to, no matter how briefly. I guess I can get rid of it now, seems unlikely I'll be using it again.
