Unfamiliar toy

Post by Velasa » Thu Aug 21, 2008 3:43 am

While cruising ebay I came across this-

http://i21.ebayimg.com/08/i/001/05/82/adb9_1.JPG

I like to think I'm fairly familiar with Dragonball merchandise that's out in the states but I've never seen this before. The red dragonball, what seems to be a gun and sticker remind me of the old releases of the Super Budoten figures back in the late 90's, but they didn't have a Yamcha and the packaging is completely different. I don't think it's new either becauuse you guys have been pretty good at having reviews of new toys.

So, who's this Yamcha? Is he any good?

I bought a Radditz with a bazooka once, with a red Dragonball. I don't know if it was a bootleg or not, but probably it was, because of the sloppy painting.
Otherwise it was well made.
The packaging looked the same as yours do.
By the way, why isn't there any sticker from the manufacturer there? Shouldn't there be a Ban Dai sticker?
No more time for Daizex. Goodbye folks!

It's either a bootleg or an Italian figure, since I remember seeing some with packaging like that.

Wow. You guys should cruise the board at dragonballtoys.com every once in a while.
That's a repack of the rare AB group Yamcha figure. AB group is a French toymaking company for the European market. Some AB figures are very rare. These repacks have helped this to a degree.

EDIT:Wojak, your Raditz sounds like its from the same set. Definitely not a bootleg.

I think that this is that figure...if it's not then you can try and check through the other AB Groupe toys listed on Super Saiyan Toys on this page.

That's the one Rambo. That site was created by DBT Moderator Oldphan, if I'm not mistaken.

That is correct, and Oldphan has an account here as well.

I've been there numerous times... and I've also heard of AB. But I haven't seen their packaging or toys. Sorry.

That isn't the packaging for their toys. That's the packaging of certain repacks. You can see images of MOST of the AB line and their packaging at www.supersaiyantoys.com. And don't be sorry!

Well, if one of you just sniped it out from under me I'll probably hurt you < < Unless it was someone not from the board.

I have the repack of that figure, but mine has the Kame logo on Yamcha's shirt. It is a decent figure, and the only figure of Yamcha in his fighting gi in that scale that I've ever seen. I got it from a collector in France years ago along with a handful of others that he had to sell.
