Dragonball Video Game Music!

Post by VenomSymbiote » Thu Aug 21, 2008 2:26 pm

A lot of the video games that have been released have some really nice music, wether it be original, from Japanese, or from the dub, all of it is really nice! Which game's music did you like?

I happen to really like the Legacy of Goku 2's music! A lot was remixed from the Funimation music, like with Bruce Falconer, but the majority of the music sounded a lot better than the actual track!

Oh man.... I LOVED Legacy of Goku II's music! It's like the only DBZ game that used Bruce Faulconer music (which I LOVE to death)!!!!! It made you feel like you were in the actual anime show!!

EDIT: Oh yeah... Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu also used some Bruce Faulconer music. :P

Wow somebody else who likes his music.

Oh and LOG 1&3 did use his music, except that it's less notable in those games than here.

The thing is, Faulconer's music translated well into the GBA synthesizer. Whoever programmed it obviously knew WHAT he was converting. Heck, I think some of his songs sound BETTER on the GBA than on the TV show itself.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
I think a lot of people hated this one, but I really liked the music in Budokai Tenkaichi 2. In fact, I liked it so much that I was having a little trouble deciding on if I should part with the game or not once I had Tenkaichi 3 (since then I wouldn't have the music). I still eventually traded it in...after downloading the music. :p

Yeah... it was pretty less notable. The only aspects I liked about LOG I were the "traveling Snake Way" and "finding the souls" missions. :)

Super Butoden 2, there wasn't a theme I didn't enjoy. Super Sonic Warriors 2 also had some neat BGM.

Budokai 3 music was the best! Budokai 2 was pretty good as well!

Hell yeah! Especially the Inside Buu music. Bitchin'. ^_^ I don't even remember how many times I haven't chosen that place as a battleground.

Ultimate Battle 22 and to a lesser extent, Final Bout, had some pretty good music.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Cool! I really loved the music in the Grandpa Gohan's House stage (forgot the name of the stage :( ) also. I liked every stage/stage track in the game, except for the music played in Namek... sounded like a sped-up version of GT's American opening. :?

Fixed as it applies to me. :P
I'll be honest, I wanted to say that but I was in fear of getting shit for it, lol.

Thanks man.

I love the two Super Gokuden game soundtracks. Piccolo's theme was an instant classic in the 2nd game. >_<

Also for some reason, I really like the track called "People" in the first game. XD

I also really like the Budokai game BGMs and the Tenkaichi games' ones too. :3

Some of the music in Legends is really awesome, while others are just bland.

Bruce Falcouners music actually is pretty good and well composed, most people dislike it solely because it's not "DBZ" but if you take it out of context, it's pretty cool techno/rock music.
