For reals?! Can you get us a higher quality raw?
His name is Genki, and he has an account here, but he hasn't been on in over a year. Here's his e-mail adress if you want to ask him yourself (genkidbz@wanadoo.fr). He's a pretty nice guy so it' really worth a try.

I'm half french, and herms could probably tl check...
I can deal with the subbing, but if you would be so kind as to check my translation against the French subs, I'd be infinitely grateful!

I'd contact Genki myself, but if sangofe knows him already, that'll give us an in.

For reference, and for those of you watching the news of late, that damned tropical storm sat on top of my city for a good two days. Gotta call someone about patching up the roof when I get off work.

Wow, that was almost like watching some preschooler or kindergarten stuff. But it was cool seeing some original DragonBall-related stuff that I haven't seen before, nonetheless.

WTF and here I thought the Genki, the one with the huge collection( we are talking about that Genki, right? ) that he would be a generous Dragonball fan. Too bad.

Well shinmaru must have a raw as well. I asked for it on YouTube, but instead of getting back to me he decided to make his own version.

I don't think the quality of that raw version would be any better than this one ...

Yes, that Genki. He's always been kinda cheap sharing stuff.

I can never really tell with Youtube videos. Depends how you encode them really. It's possible we have the same source.

I don't know if he is this stingy about sharing any of his other stuff, but I kind of understand where he's coming from in this case. That video originally came from a VHS recording in Japan, so somehow he got it from Japan (probably after a lot of asking around and probably a lot of money) and that alone takes a tremendous amount of work. I believe this to be the the rarest piece of Dragonball related footage in the world, if not the second, so it's somewhat understandable that he kind of wants to keep the original version (since there's probably only a handful still in existence) just to himself.

We don't know if he capped it himself or not (or at least I don't.) Digital video is digital video: no reason not to share the wealth.

Not if you want it done fast, but if you can wait, yes.

He did buy the VHS and captured it himself.

Sure sure; no rush, naturally. Quality over timeliness, I always say.

Nice, I hope to see this new revised translation some time in the future. You guys should assemble a work team by the way :P Metrite still needs someone to translate his Playdia footage and I sure am interested in that as well.

I too am very interested in a translation of Metrite's Playdia footage and am willing to help in any way possible. I would also love to see the 3rd DBZ TV special subbed (which would be pretty easy since 90% of the footage already has subs out there)...and it would be legal since it was never released.

Wait...There is a chance to see the Playdia footage?
It looks like a pile of Crap, but I gotta have it!
