This "goodguy777" doesn't get Toriyama did care or even remember to calculate all the properties of reality. Jesus, this is the guy forgot poor old Ranchi and Boss Rabbit.
This is just funny dude.
You keep on ignoring the fact that I didn't say it's 100% applicable to our world. Sometimes it's applicable, like the word planet, guns, galaxy, solar system, cell etc. If not, destroying planet means nothing. I think you have a problem when and where to apply science in fictional world.

Learn to read...heh, everyone was write in a nice a kind tone...WTF?
Learn to have actual facts and merit.

Dragonball is not even 80% SCIENCE-fiction, there are tons of MAGICAL elements in Dragonball as well.
Science Fiction = 75%

Magical Elements = 25%

I'm not ignoring the magical elements, it's just that dragon ball is more of a science-fiction action than fantasy.
It's a gag manga! It never was nor was it meant to be scientifically sound or accurate.

Egh, I think both fantasy and Science Fiction are used to give Toriyama room to draw whatever he's most interested in at the time. :D
Actually, the way DragonBall works, we have something like two kinds of Science Fiction going on?
We have the 'modernized' stuff (I'd say Capsule Corp and the Red Ribbon Army cover this), and we have the "adapting natural stuff" stuff (I.E, the moon/Oozaru stuff).
... ok, so Freeza's empire's technology is something else entirely. It's mostly the same type as the Capsule Corp/RRA stuff, except from Aliens. We still get the cultureclash (Goku/Bulma, Goku with Karin Training taking on a technologically-powered rmy... and the Earth's heroes with their old-style mystical martial arts training Vs Freeza's empire... not quite as technologically powered, but the general idea is still there. Appropriately, the arcs that stick out in both 'halves' of the series are mostly fantasy-ish (I am very much aware of the vaguely scifi-aspects to Piccolo and Buu... but they don't prsent the same contrast as the other story arcs)).
... Wait, what the heck was I talking about?

Even though it seems that we're all at war with quote towers and goodguy's seriousness, don't you think you're being a little more harsh than the rest of us? Just wondering. Since you do have the highest post count on the forum, I thought you'd be a little more...civilly nice.
What? Because I have the guts to call goodguy out on how ridiculously obtuse, arrogant and rude he is? Trust me, they're are dozens of people mumbling the exact same things about him at the moment in chatrooms and such. I just actually say them. My posts are to illustrate how because of his conduct and lack of humility, the best way to deal with him is to disregard him. Since he won't give anyone else's opinions a chance, why should the rest of you? You get respect by giving respect. So if you don't mind, you can take back your lecture since all really consists of is "shooting the messenger" so to speak.

How about I do it like this then?
So, pancakes.....who here likes them? Personally as breakfast foods go, I prefer PopTarts myself, especially S'mores flavour.
1.) The problem is I keep on using the Bold letters to point out the word.

For example:

Sometimes, science is applicable because it has a science-fiction elements.

2.) Then, the reply I will be receiving ignores the bold letter and the word I'm trying to point out.

For example:

This is fictional world and Toriyama didn't care or even remember to calculate all the properties of reality.

Actually, it doesn't even matter whether it's more of a science-fiction or fantasy. My point is since Dragon Ball has a science-fiction element, sometimes it's possible to apply science.

Actually Caejones, I forgot about waffles. Thanks for reminding me! Ya I like waffles better than pancakes(including blueberry)! PopTars are still the best though. 8)

Oh and I love how goodguy, when defending his use of bold type, makes sure to use a less rude line from one of his posts as an example as opposed to his more commonly, obvious rude and belittling ones like, "Learn to read please". :D

I know I'm you're target, but is it alright if I ask if you read the post above? My reply to you.

Well my breakfast of choice would have to be... SUPER GOKU FLAKES!! because they're a nutritious part of this balanced breakfast

But for real, I'd have to say it's a tie between S'mores pop tarts and Raisin Bran Crunch. :D

Made one by editing my last above. That's all I have to say on the matter, unless you want to discuss pancakes and waffles.

I always find Raisin Bran too sugary for me. Funny about bringing up the "Goku flakes" joke. I'm suprised we never saw some sort of cheesy marketed DBZ cereal over here during the series peak. XD

While I'm pretty sure I've not gotten into this position... I didn't know you used bold letters until now because I use a screenreader. (Though I think I recall a moment where I did miss the point of a post because of that... not in a debate though...).

Hmm. I don't like how what I want to say makes it look like I'm taking sides, but I would like to point out that it annoys me a great deal when people come in and tel people to "just enjoy the series" when someone tries to... ur... enjoy the series by looking too deep into an aspect that interests them...
(Though, that sort of language hasn't been used here, and most of any comments in this thread that are similar are balanced by the insistance o the other side that Toriyama put a good deal of thought into certain elements... but blegh, better I make my point when I'm in a relatively good mood. :) ).

... And now I know how to spell waffles.

I'm surprised this hasn't been locked yet. Goodguy, I really don't understand why you bother to start threads for discussion when even though some of your points are proven wrong, you STILL insist you're right. If you have no room to be open to our opinions, why bother asking? We've read what you have to say countless times and given explanations on how you can enjoy Dragon Ball without much knowledge of science and it's still not good enough.
Trans rights, now!
