Would GT have been more bearable had...

....Son Goku remained in his adult form?

I know the whole premise of GT is that Goku is a kid again, but that whole plot point went down the shitter a quarter through the series.

But yeah, had the premise had been different would the series have been more bearable, still counting SSJ4 and the Black Star Dragon Balls, would the series have turned out better? I think the whole reason Goku was turned into a kid again was to be able to put him into more comedic situations and try to emulate Dragonball while still retaining his immense strength and skill for DBZ-esque battles.

YES.

I would've enjoyed GT much, MUCH more had he remained in adult form. I mean, ssj4 almost felt like they were trying to "throw a bone" to those who were disappointed by the chibification, but it still wasn't the same.

I dunno, I always though Goku getting kiddie-fied was half the series' charm. Made it funny and interesting.

At least, for that first third or so. Something should have happened to restore him to adulthood once the battles with Babi back on Earth and Plant were over.

GT should have been just what it was meant to be, What happens after Z ended.

I guess they were trying different ways to set it apart from the others, but maybe instead of Goku turning into a kid, Pilaf could have accidently made another wish saying something like "I wish I had more muscle than you so I could beat you up!" And gets more muscle, but not more power, thereby becoming a steroid pumped pilaf with stumpy biceps.

And instead of just Goku, Pan and Trunks, have it be Goku, Pan, Trunks, AND Goten. Goten at this point in the series is still young and deserved better treatment.

The search for the Dragonballs is fine, that's what they do right? Except a big shitty aspect of GT was that despite Goku, Trunks and Pan having more than enough power to blast their way through any problem, they have to play a game of cat and mouse with bumbling villians thereby leading to more comedic situations. Goku is not one to resort to violence unless the opponent is to be taken seriously but god damn it wouldn't hurt to have included more action rather than playing cat and mouse with whatever bumbling alien that the planet has to offer.

Had they included the Humans too, I don't give a danm if Maron's father , Pan's mother and the like were too old but I would have still liked it if they had appeared in there and fought.

or at least had a role with lines in it (Kuririn had but everyone else forgotten how to talk)

Oh and not have Goku dissapear in the last episode.

I actually enjoyed that aspect of the series. I enjoyed Dragonball before the whole Saiyan arc, and I felt like the younger Goku borught back a lot of that charm. It was EVERYTHING ELSE that made the series unbearable!

GT would have been better if the fights were more entertaining. All the fights consisted of was Ki blast and that tired ass "Camera jerks around while sonic booms are just...booming" fighting. If the fights were as good as Goku vs Cell and the writers were actually able to make people CARE about them then it would have been a lot better.

I think that Goku becoming a kid again was a pathetic attempt at recreating the much popular Dragonball. Giving Goku his kid body but keeping the constant battle storyline that we had in Z was a bad combination. Plus, Goku having his child form made no difference in him or his peers. Yes if he had regained his child body and also his childhood charm things would have been good, but all they did was change his height and keep his personality, and those two don't mix.

Also think had the dub kept Faulconer's score it would've been better. Omega's destruction would've been awesome with Ginyu Transformation playing.

I really haven't seen that much of GT. I saw the whole Super 17 saga, and some other episodes here and there, but for the most part I didn't like what I saw.
Honestly, I think the whole Base Kid Goku kills everyone/All of the Z senshi are worthless except Goku part is what really killed it. Not to mention Toei forgot about SSJ2, and the whole fact the Gohan was "ultimate". Blah, so many plot wholes.

Maybe it would have been better...but I doubt it. It would have still been all Goku, which seems to be the big gripe with GT anyway. Actually, I wish they chibified Goku and Vegeta together for awhile. I'd love to see them two off in space together. I think Goku and Vegeta Jr. gave me a taste for it.

I was on the rampage about that for the better part of a decade before I got some of the reasoning on it. Even with the reasoning it's still pretty annoying, but not in ways that make me go for my warhammer.

.... That vid was pretty neat. I've only seen two eps of GT and for those I really don't remember the score (was distracted by my baby dying/laughing at Old Man Pilaf), but I've gotten enough of an idea that it's shit by listening to people and one GT commercial I saw a while ago.

Mostly, though, the video reminded me just how nuts I am about the Freezer saga. I picked out the SSJ transformation sequence music immediately and it just made me giddy.

Ya I think it would have been better. Personally, I don't like the idea at all that Goku gets turned into a kid. It's even dumber that he stays like that for the entire series. To me, we already did that, it's called Dragonball and it was 20 times more charming than GT. It's really just rehashing in my view, but then I find much of GT is rehashing from both DB and DBZ.
