New Wii Game in 2009?

Post by SS Kakarot » Mon Sep 01, 2008 12:06 pm

Not sure if this is old news, if it is I'm sorry!

Just saw this listing over on the Play.com site.
Since the release is so close to next years DB Movie, could it have something to do with that? :?

Also, they call Infinite World 'Fighting Budokai', and DB Origins is called DBZ Action RPG.
So perhaps the DBZ Wii game is not a 'Z' game at all.

Once again, my apologies if this was all old news.

I, I kind of hope there isn't a videogame to go with the "adaption".

Maybe its the Wii version of that "Trilogy" collection?
On hiatus.

Yeah, it's probably trilogy on the Nintendo Wii.

Doubt it. Super DragonBall Z ran on modified PS2 hardware in the arcade (thus the easy home port) and has never seen any kind of port elsewhere. Not saying it couldn't be done, but it's not in Atari's best-interest to subsidize extra work at this point.

I can only imagine what Super DBZ would control like on the Wii.

Tenkaichi 1 wasn't on the Wii, either.

Budokai 2 and 3 weren't on any Nintendo system either.

Budokai & Budokai 2 were on PS2/Gamecube, and as mentioned before, Budokai Tenkaichi 2 / Sparking! NEO & Budokai Tenkaichi 3 / Sparking! METEOR were both PS2/Wii.

Well I'm curious what it will turn out to be, if it's anything at all.
Glad I found something interesting though. :)

Yes.
In fact, I have it on my game shelf.

But yes, as EX pointed out, the only DB games on the Wii thus far have been Sparking Neo and Meteor.

DBZ 1 and 2 were both on GameCube and PS2.

DBZ 3 and Super DBZ were exclusive to PS2.

Funnily enough, Sagas was released on all three consoles of the time, making it the only DB game on the original X-Box, I believe.

Anyway, considering how much better the Wii controls made the Sparking series, I'm interested to see what's next for Dragon Ball on the Wii.

But if it's a Live Action Movie Adaptation, I won't touch it with a ten foot Nyoibo.

What if it ends up being a good game, like the Spider-Man movie games?

Yeah, even though games adapted from movies are usually bad, there are a few good ones. Heck, I don't like the Star Wars prequels much at all, but right now I'm really enjoying Lego Star Wars. So even if this movie does turn out to stink, maybe we can get a good game out of it at least.

I hope they put some video game out for the Dragonball movie.
Good or bad, I'd probably buy it.

I see the live action Dragonball game as a glitched platformer where you have to collect tokens and beat stock enemy's that all looking the same to get to the end of the level. From time to time you can fire off a Kamehameha (when you collect enough "power tokens" that is) which can be used as a super attack. You'll battle a boss at the end of each level (most of the time they will be original and unrelated to the story) but it won't matter because most of the combat will be slamming 2 buttons anyway...but that's just my vision.

Or the game could be really good, being a platformer with good controls, multiple playable characters, wide, sprawling levels with interesting puzzles and enemies, and awesome boss battles. Or it could end up a fighter game.

Different scenario. I never thought the Spider-Man movies were a retardedly bad idea. (Just badly cast.)
