It'd make a damnlot more sense if it was Pic actually from that saga, not one from ten years before what happened in the box set. I love Pic getting a cover. But this's still weird.

True, the last time we see Piccolo use the Makankosappo, in the anime, is when he is trying to hurt and destract Cell, the Kamehameha struggle between SSJ2Gohan and Cell.

Piccolo was a major player during the early Buu-saga stuff, even if it wasn't as a direct fighter. If they wanted to get Piccolo on a cover somewhere, somehow (who can blame them), this seems to me like their last decent opportunity to do it (Season 2 would have made a bit more sense, but I guess they wanted to get Goku on one early on). Then for the last two boxes, we can get Buu or Vegetto or Gotenks or whoever. But for this set, one that's mostly the precursor to the juicy stuff, let's let Green-dawg have his time in the spotlight.

As for the Makankosappo... well, he looks badass doing it.

If it was up to me I would have arranged the cover art like this

Season 1- Vegeta
Season 2- Krillin and Gohan, maybe some first form Freeza in the back or something
Season 3- Freeza
Season 4- Trunks or Androids #17 and #18
Season 5- All 3 forms of Cell
Season 6- SSJ2 Gohan
Season 7- Great Saiyaman
Season 8- Babidi and Fat Buu
Season 9- Fusion characters
Season 10- Kid Buu

I'm super skeptical that I have the right amount of seasons down because I didn't research it at all, this was just what came to me off the top off my head.

Where would you put him? I would say season three as SSJ, but Freeza pretty much has that slot locked up and there's nowhere else really to put him after that.

-edit- season 10 with Kid Buu as SSJ3 seems to be the best place for Goku IMO

If you were allowing multiple characters, then I would put Goku and Vegeta on the Season One cover together.

Good point, I sort of missed that because I was trying to keep the cover arts that already came out and were good already the same. I stand by all the other choices I made though.

Season 7- Everyone at the 24th Tenkaichi Budokai
Season 8- Majin Vegeta
Season 9- SSJ3Gotenks and Goku
Season 10- Goku giving a thumbs up(After beating Kid Buu with the Genki-Dama)

Eh, I think it'd be a goofy choice in either case. Just like the Cell Games had an obvious "SSJ2 Gohan" feel, the first part of the Boo Arc has a definite...well, almost anyone but Piccolo feel ;p

Yeah, just like season two's cover was from Ultimate Uncut Volume 1. Apparently FUNi doesn't have as much art to work with as we thought.

Don't you mean the 25th Tenkaichi Budokai. The 24th is when Mr. Satan won it and started getting famous. So I don't think you mean the 24th one because then the cover would be Mr. Satan and other random human weak fighters.

Haha thats right I forgot Mr. Satan defeted Spopovich with his raw skills. I also remember the announcer saying that Jewel made it to the finals and lost obviously. So season 7 should be Mr. Satan in the middle and to the sides Spopovich (with mullet) and Jewel lol.

Does anyone know how many season sets we are getting? I thought it was determined that there would be nine. Well, whatever, as long as they finish this release, then funi will finally have accomplished something, Finishing something they started! Ignoring strange box art choices, widescreen silliness, and faux remastering.
