I actually like that idea. It's kinda creepy in a way. Maybe it's just me. :?
Yeah. Like as if there are Saiyans lurking around, and nobody has clue.

Roshi encountering a Saiyan early on is an interesting idea but man...That must have been one WEAK ass Saiyan.

Yeah I mean I know Chris Sabat doesn't exactly do justice to everyone's favorite characters (or some fans whatever) but I think it'd be cool if someone from the show is involved in the movie. Hell Chris Sabat voicing Shenron would make it more authentic. They already have one of the Japanese voice actors narrating the Japanese version. :?

That, I like. I like that a lot.
Pic's look/gi
One- Daimaou never wore a turban. Two- he is one scary sonuvabitch and I don't know what's wrong with these people if they don't recognize it. Three- .. wow that was complete bullshit. Pretty much like Kunsait said here.

And on the gi? I actually really like the gi in the movie, and I think I talked about that in my last post. I like Son's gi too- I don't see what's mismatched about it at all. His actual I'ma-giant-orange-spot-wee! gi would look silly on a real person (and it does on cosplayers 90% of the time), and this one takes enough noted from it for respect of the original while making it a little less... garishly orange.

I think the real problem is that we don't have to look hard to "find" something to hate about this movie. Every where we turn there is some new and equally terrible bit of previously unknown information. It really does seem like the people behind this movie are trying their hardest to alienate fans.

In other words, even if it is something as mildly tolerable to listen to as Sabat’s Shenron/Shen Long voice, I was banking on not having any residual reminders of the FUNimation dub anywhere near this fucking thing, and for whatever flaws it might have to be all it’s own. Forgive me for not being especially welcoming towards a minor “shout out” to a version of the series that I happen to think is indefensibly shitty and is about as disrespectful to Toriyama’s work as it gets, and is thus undeserving of even a brief nod.

To me it’s like having Arnold Schwarzenegger briefly cameo for a split second as Mr. Freeze in the next Nolan produced Batman movie. Would it be enough to sink it and ruin the whole thing all by itself if it was an otherwise awesome movie? No, of course not… but it wouldn’t exactly be the most fondly looked at “Easter Egg” in an film adaptation of something that already has a long history behind it of poorly made attempts that were totally disrespectful to the source material.

See above. Chris Sabat is simply NOT from the same show that I like. To me there’s Toei/Toriyama’s Dragon Ball franchise (which I’m a fan of) and then there’s FUNimation’s Dragon Ball franchise (which I think fucking blows). The two versions are THAT much a world apart IMO. There’s nothing remotely “authentic” about Sabat being involved in this for someone like me. If anything it's "anti-authentic" to the Dragon Ball I'm familliar with.

Piccolo’s “Arabic” look was an element that was NEVER blown out of proportion by anyone, anywhere, ever, in all these years of Dragon Ball being a presence throughout the globe (again, including the Middle East). So these Hollywood yahoos decide that the prudent thing to do in this scenario would be to pick at THAT element of all things and be quite literally the first ones to ever publicly make an inane issue out of it, ironically in an attempt to AVOID doing so?
I think Piccolo's turban and shit is badass. If anything, it would cause our Middle Eastern brothers and sisters to be fucking proud.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

@ Kunazait and Mrkaizoku.... Man you guys really don't fuck around do you ? *Laugh's nervously*

Well somebody will enjoy hearing Chris Sabat. A tidbit that has seemed to be skipped over is that there is supposed to be an animated part (possibly the intro) in the movie. What do you guys think of that ?

Um, it was generalized statement that I think people are going overboard about a movie that we really don't know all that much about. If you don't like the dub, fine, but who cares if Sabat is the voice of shenron, at least we know it will sound decent.

Just read through 15 pages and an very happy to get some new news. Piccolo's lack of green and antenas is a little bad, but not something I would personally obsess over. The possible reasons as to why it could be that way are this way are understandable. People like to see offenciveness where there was no intent and companies don't like negative press, even whn there was no actual wrong doing (Burger King getting sued because when you hold one of their desert containers at a certain angle the marking spell out God in arabic).

This movie has a lot of changes from the soure material and the only way to know if it was worth it is to go see it. The only problem I have with people's "opinions" of it are those who say it will be a terrible movie. For the most part it's just the overall negativity over something you have not seen yet. What the movie may seem like it's going to be is not what it may actually turn out to be. This film could easily surpass the $100 million mark or could be something no one but Dragon Ball fans go see and not even break even. An example for me was the movie Enchanted which me and a friend thought was not going to be entertaining at up but I ended up seeing it twice.

It's really hard to get the chnages in someone voices when they say something. And for the most part a lot of what people were complaining about really weren't complaint worthy, but this yellow, vampirish Piccolo is probably this only truly valid thing that would sway anyone away from the movie. In the end, I think that it's a matter of interpretation of the "haters" that was causing all of the back and forth that gets this and Season Set quality topics closed.

Believe me, I don’t think something that minor will single handedly ruin the whole movie all by itself. You’d be blowing my reaction way out of proportion if that’s what you think I meant. But I do think that it’s simply… well annoying. I feel it to be exactly how I described it: unwelcome.
