One Piece / DBZ Toei Crossover?

Post by Deus ex Machina » Wed Aug 18, 2004 11:32 pm

I just found all this information posted on another message board; I am completly stunned by what I'm looking at, and can neither confirm or refute the evidence presented, so I am going to simply post it all in its entirety.
this aired in japan recently I guess..

the animation quality is supposed to be pretty good and its basically a cross over with the main characters from One Piece&DBZ vs a villan from OP...

here is the plot

The plot: Eneru attacks Tokyo and Odaiba. Ryu-san(from Kochi Kame) is outside the globe pressed up against the glass warning everybody. Then Eneru attacks. Then Goku comes out of nowhere to fight Eneru. The globe gets knocked off the building but Luffy uses his baloon defense to knock it back up. It's pretty freaky, they use a combination of live action footage of Tokyo mixed with CG and animation. Anyway, there's a big battle. Luffy and Goku do a GomuGomu no Kamea mea attack and destroy Eneru. But Chopper is worried about the destroyed city. So everyone from DBZ show up with Dragonballs and summon the Dragon, which is a giant air-filled ballon on the ceiling of the globe. He say's "What's your wish?" Nami and Ryu-san say "Money" I think. Everyone gets pissed then ask the Dragon to restore the city. Then the movie screens lift up revealing the real Tokyo city scape.
EDIT: Images removed. Scroll down to find them.

...Discuss!

Kamea mea
Madness.

And those pics look photoshopped to me. Especially Piccolo in the last one. But I am a moody, cynical man, so what do I know?

The lighting kinda looks inconsistant on the bottom shot, and why would Gohan be wearing those clothes?

Besides, I think someone would have heard of this quite a while ago if it were true, because if I'm not mistaken both VegettoEX and Greg are big fans of One Piece.

I'm probably more cynical than PsyLiam, but I'm sure it's photoshop'd. Look at Luffy in that one pic, and the final image seems like a dead giveaway.

The easiest way to know would be to look at all the episodes where Gohan wears those clothes, and find that shot. Not that anyone will want to do it. Somebody must have put a lot of work into making those.

Anyway, try looking at the text instead of the pictures. The plot should be taken straight from the news source, right? Who would take direct quotes from the source on the plot and rewrite it? No trustworthy source would type like "Everyone gets pissed then ask the Dragon to restore the city.", and no untrustworthy source would get that shit first. The guy posting it would not have seen the footage himself, if it were true. So if he was summarizing something, it would be the report from IGN or what-fucking-ever. Rewriting that would just make it look less believable.

Why go through all the trouble with fake images when your text description is so flawed? Even though most of those images look like they were taken from Budokai game screenshots.

Edit: Yeah, I'm way too cynical. *cries*

It could be real. Some of those are really convincing IMO. And that first with Goku could only be a B3 image I've never seen if it's from a Budokai game. The only thing, IMO, that makes it seem off is the multiple screens in the images... unless that's from the program too... Which it could be since the images seem to be 'split screened' or whatever over several screens.

Yeh it looks very convincing, especially seeing that the art quality is like that of Budokai 2, and that was all done by Toei themselves.

But christ, that is messed up lol.

I want a Sailor Moon/DBZ crossover damnit! You people at Toei need to wake up!

It's real.

It didn't "air" on TV or anything, though. Rather, it's a sort of multimedia presentation done for a recent thing involving a life-size Going Merry Go and other One Piece-related goodness, in Odaiba (I dunno... omae no kaasan can explain it better than I can, probably). The multiple TVs and room-size display should be the tipoff.

I think it's great that they also had Ryu-san from Kochi Kame make an appearance. That's a hilarious series too. I know we're all amazed at seeing this, but I'm sure no one is as "over the moon" about as Eiichiro Oda. ^_^

There's people in chairs and the screens are all over the walls. It reminds me of T2:3D the ride for some reason, or one of those astrological things where the constellations are on the ceiling. So THIS is the "00ber F@mUs Uund3rgownd f@@nim33~~11" that all the n00bs are always talking about.

Pretty nifty, looks like quite a few characters made the cut. I've never seen this or come across it, I'm sure a tape of it would be worth something to someone.

Someone like me :P

I think it's just absolutely freakin' awesome that Luffy's up there on Kintoun with Goku. It makes sense, it's cute, it's heart-warming, and if I were Oda, I'd pass out in honor.

We all knew it was just a matter of time before we saw a DBZ/One Piece crossover of some kind. So what is this exactly, a theme park attraction? Sortve like how Marvel Comics has a park at Universal?

This is one of the greatest things I've come across in a long.

I'm really into One Piece at the moment and Dragon ball is forever going to be a favourite of mine, so I'm just loving all this.

While I agree with VegettoEX that the shot with Goku and Luffy on Kintoun is awesome, I'm just flippin' over seeing my two favourite characters from each series sharing the same space, Gohan and Zoro, even if they are among other characters! I also love the shots with Luffy with his arms around Goten and Trunks, it's just cute and awesome.

Knowing how much Oda loves Toriyama and DB, he'll probably won't be able to carry on with OP after seeing all this!

But...but...why is Gohan in his Kai-costume?

AND WHAT ABOUT THE CANON?!

Yeah, the choice for Gohan's costume is a strange one, but I could have been worse... it could have been the Great Saiyaman costume, bandana/sunglasses or helmet and all.

Canon? Meh, the whole thing is just awesome, who cares when we've got Goku and Luffy both on the Kintoun!

I'd love to see both of them as Chibi's on the Kintoun, now that would be the cutest thing ever!

I find it weird Luffy has his hands on Goten and Trunks and Bulma has his hands on Chopper

Its like they are all buddy-buddy.

Goku n' Luffy would make a great buddy flick!

I'm just hoping that somehow, some time, I'll get to see it. Maybe on DVD :D

EDIT: Someone on the same forum claims he has the movie clips saved to his hard drive, and is in the proccess of getting them hosted online for download. If it's true, I'll give everyone the heads up.

And one was made: it's called "Sailor Moon and the Seven Balls," and it's the single most disturbing, digusting, yet bizarrely comical T H I N G I've ever been subjected to. So if you're unpredictable college roommate wants you to see something he downloaded and he's laughing his ass off, DON'T. I saw more badly animated Namekian anatomy than I ever needed to see in one lifetime. What's odd was that while Goku and Piccolo were dressed normally, Vegeta was wearing a bowtie and no shirt.

Uh, anyway... yeah... I don't like One Piece that much, but this looks mildly entertaining.

So is it that Roshi was wrong about the pure heart thing and the yellow jalopy cloud only caters to the incompetent, or are Goku and Luffy so stupid they're incapable of spite?
