That's definitely a conspiracy. :| Anyway, back on topic! Main reason to get the Movie 9, SSJ2 Gohan! Need I say more? :D

The subtitles were messed up. A lot. Timing was screwed, Goku said 'Cell defeated Cell' when he was clearly saying 'Satan', and there was a weird graphical glitch where a line would run through the subtitles at some points. And here I thought FUNi had improved...
Did anyone have these same problems? No one replied before, so I'm wondering if I got a glitchy copy or if this is a problem with the master.

Someone else mentioned the " Goku said 'Cell defeated Cell' when he was clearly saying 'Satan'" problem, my DVD has the same mis-subtitle.

The actual line is in the beginning when Mr. Satan is on TV, and Goku comes out of the cave with a load of food in his hands. He's saying "So, Satan has become the one who killed Cell. I guess that's okay." Yet, it reads, "So Cell has become the one who killed Cell." Which doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

Funny dub things, tho. The credits say "Reversioned by Funimation Productions." Look, they made up a word for what they do!

Also, Trunks gets to cuss! He yells, "What the hell are you!?" at Kogu early on in their duel. Although it's pretty unnatural for a DBZ dub, Mr Vale delivers the line in a way that doesn't suggest anything special about it, as if Trunks were allowed to be PG-rated all the time :P

Cool so its not just me. Also, do you really have to watch those stupid commercials before the menu? Before you could easily fast forward through them or skip them through means of the next chapter button or the menu button. FUNIMATION did SUCH a good job on this DVD... (sarcasm)

Try the "title" button, if your remote has one.

Also, this is a minor, but cool thing. The dub keeps Dosukoi (the sumo wrestler) exactly the same: he only says "dosukoi" I was bizzarely pleased by that.

They probably figured since he was a sumo wrestler, an athelete of a sport that's widely known as Japanese, it wouldn't confuse people if he also spoke Japanese in the dub.

Writing (sarcasm) after a sarcastic sentence is the modern day equivalent of saying "NOT!" is a loud, obnoxious voice.

If you're not skilled enough to write something sarcastic without announcing that it's sarcasm, then leave it to the professionals. Generation Xers, or British people. Study their techniques, and hopefully you to will learn the art of sarcasm. I really hope that you do. Really. It'll be great. Fantastic. I will dance on the rooftops and proclaim your name when that day comes, so fulfilled will my life be. Woo.

And THAT right there was an example of a professional (a Brit) using sarcasm. :P

Hey, the newsest Cell Games DVD was also supposed to be out yesterday, but my Best Buy didn't seem to have it. Has anyone else been able to locate it?

I saw it Saturday when I got the Bojack disc...and they changed the cover to SSJ2 Gohan doing a Kamehameha (the first one he uses, that tears Cell up, not the final showdown)...whereas that doesn't actually happen for another, what, 5 episodes? Jeez...

The menus are hideous, but damn if I'm not pumped about gettin' me some Microids (or whatever)! I mean, look at them! They... walk and... uh... their eyes light up... and there's uh... the one with the horn... They fight evil... with their... you know... their eyes light up, man!

Did I mention the menus are hideous?

As always there's that one special dub line you take away...

Bojack: "Any last words?!"

Gohan: "Yeah, one comes to mind... KAMEHAMEHAAAA!!!!"

Clever as always, guys. Damn, it's not even fun bitching about them, anymore.

I don't assume there will never be entertaining extras on a Dragonball disc, will there? I know it's partly Toei's fault, but I don't care for just more ads for more juvenile anime, dubbed better than what I just bought... ironically by the same company... After so many years, it still hurts.

Well, now THAT'S pretty sad. That coul'd've been part of the problem, I was looking for the same cover as the VHS, maybe I missed it? I'll stop by tommorrow and double-check.

In the dub? Weird. They don't do that at all on the Ocean Group version (which is nigh-identical to the FUNi version).

Maybe they decided to drop "Tienshinhan" into the "uncut" dub, for the kids who've seen DragonBall.

Just picked it up and watched the dub. Very nice. The guy who did Bojack did a good job. Krillin got distracted by a woman (Big Surprise). Now to watch Japanese with subtitles.
