Ok fair enough. If you were selling the same amount of singles how much would you list them for?

You never seen Dragon Box footage before? No wonder sig-*Supporter of the Remastered Season Sets*

Just kidding. There are a lot of threads on thses subject. Just do a search.
Lol. I found a comparison. Yes, I am happy with the Funi dub. It does have low quality at time but I can still tell whats going on. Its cheap and a great value. I'm a poor college student that doesn't know Japanese, thats prolly why I'm not getting the whole R2/Dragonbox phenomem.
You can watch the Japanese with English subtitles on Funi's DVDs.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

I know, I am going to do that sometime soon so I can see the dialog difference between the dub and the origional.

You can't, but if someone wanted all those episodes you're selling, he'd get a Dragonbox instead. The singles aren't intended for people who want the entire series - they were the Dragonbox audience.

Seriously - if you want to get rid of these discs, sell them individually, and don't make such a ridiculous starting bid. People won't buy them like this.

They're about $30 a single, it seems, if you divide it out.

I'd sell them one by one with a starting bid of $25, or grouped in "saga" sets for a collective price.

But the thing is he probably doesn't want to end up with only half of them sold, and then he's left with an incomplete series and not enough funds for the Dragonboxes.

That's a good idea. I'll think about that one.

Dragonball is an expensive franchise to keep up with. After completing my collection of the VIZ tankoubon release, obtaining a Scouter, and obtaining a set of Dragonballs I've kept my grubby hands off my credit card about 90% of the time I see something Dragonball-related. The other 10% of the time is for special stuff like the VIZ translation of Daizenshuu #1.

I mean, the best DBZ game ever has already come out ("Super DBZ"), the manga is how I almost exclusively enjoy Dragonball, and I have a couple of obscure collectibles that I've dreamed of having since I got into the anime back in the very late '90s. There's not much else that I really want!

However, I might give in and get those hardcover manga...!

$20 to $25 dollars a piece.
Well after this auction end's (and if it doesn't sell). I'll list the singles in sagas IE:

Sayajin saga- 7 dvd's around 200$
Namek+Freeza saga- 11 dvd's- around 300$
Android+Cell saga- 15 dvd's- around 400$

Is that better? Would anyone be interested in this kind of deal?

I definitely think you would get buyers with that deal. I would be interesting in getting some of those, but I just can't afford it right now.

I think that is a much better deal. I would even say you would be better off with selling one at a time, but the shipping for you might be a little much.

If I wasn't currently "between opportunities" job-wise and mooching off my parents through college, I'd be interested in something like that, yeah. Pick up a set of my favorite season in the highest quality possible.

When someone wants the whole series, in region 2, and for one HUGE price...they'll usually go for the Dragon Boxes. Your case was, definitely, a different and interesting one.

But yeah, I think that splitting it up a bit is a great idea to get someone to buy it.

The original singles took a lot of my money and with the Babidi ones, I was waiting till I could get them all before I could get Outlaw Star.

I was stupid and spent hundreds on the uncut VHS tape, so I had to Re-buy them on DVD (which I left factory sealed) and now the "Remastered" ones.

Though I made exception for the Trunks ones, since I only had the Z Warriors prepare edited due to Burger King special, I never rebought any I already had on vhs. Though know I'll have to get the Imperfect Cell for Season 5 which I already had, I'm just too darn cheap to rebuy any. Heck, I'm too cheap to buy 4 Star Wars movies I own already on vhs (3 of whom I have two versions of) on dvd. So not doing same for DBZ I already have on dvd or vhs except for that season 1 to have all of that.

I'm currently lusting after the Dragonbox singles, I really want to replace the two season sets I had to buy to fill the gap in my 4:3 singles collection, because some of my favorite episodes are in there, but I can't bring myself to watch them again.

I'm in the generation of fans that started with Toonami, so I totally empathize with the feeling of having "missed the party", experiencing disappointment, and wanting to experience it myself. But I can't, that's how life is. Time is a bitch. The party is over. Kageyama, Kikuchi, and Maeda are off the sauce now; Yanami almost OD'd; Yamamoto got arrested; Toriyama's not going to light trash cans on fire and hang from the chandelier anymore. We can't get the band back together, and even if we could, everyone's either old, in poor health, or calmed way the fuck down. Best we're going to get, and are getting, is a party that's almost entirely devoid of the magic that made the original one so awesome that we even want more.

Totally understandable, but if I were you I'd at least rip the subtitles from the two season sets before getting rid of them, so that you can use them with the Dragon Box singles.

Even if you already know everything that’s being said and just wanna watch the eps in better picture quality, you never know when you might be watching it with someone who’s seeing the series for the first time or isn’t as familiar with it as you are. Or hell, if you need to simply double check a specific line of dialogue for whatever reason. It's just convenient to have on hand.
By "replace" I didn't mean throw out :), I paid good money for Mr. Simmons' subs (hell thats how I justified the purchase of the second set) so I'll either rip them into a text file and throw it on my PSP, or go the long laborious route of actually re-timing them and putting them on the dvd's.
