SaiyaMel and I addressed this earlier. He said that the Saiyans names were Brokko and Pumpkin and my previous comments are in the quote.

Actually it’s Brock and Onion. Pumpkin was the name of one of Onion’s palette swaps.

They were only given those names in the first DBZ NES RPG. Otherwise they were unnamed and are listed in the Daizenshuu as “Illusory Saiya-jin.”

Was it not a palette swap of the characters where the names SaiyaMel mentioned were used?

Not in the manga, it wasn't.

The manga was black and white for the most part right or was the entire series done in color?

There were various colored chapters and colored illustrations, and none of the Saiyans have anything but plain black hair (unless they were Super Saiyans, of course).

Here’s how it works; in all the old 8/16 bit DBZ RPGs, when it came to henchmen, there were the regular ones from the manga/anime, as well as a series of weakened palette swaps.

For Instance, Ginger, Nicky, and Sansho from movie 1 have their original selves in the game, and are so named. However there are weaker versions of those same characters that are palette swaps with different names; Jasmine, Herb, and Cinnamon.

Even the Zarbon and Dodoria have this going for them; normally they’re bosses, but there are weakened palette swapped versions of them used as normal enemies named Yuz and Kabu.

As far as the Illusory Saiya-jin go, Brock only has his original self in the game, but Onion has a palette swap named Pumpkin. But it’s Onion who’s colored to be the same Saiya-jin we see in the anime.

Hmm, yeah- I always wondered if there was a sort of extended royal family, with these less important relatives (cousins, etc) simply being super-elites. For that matter, though, why the hell did Raditz look exactly like Vegeta? I sincerely doubt there's any kind of biological relationship whatsoever... Nothing I've read in any guidebook makes any comment on this, not even in Toriyama's own 'author's reflections' sections...I just always thought it was weird that, only a short time after Raditz's death, Vegeta- looking essentially identical facially/ widow's peak wise- turns up. I mean, sure there are points when they look dissimilar, but there are some panels in which they're identical. Just weird is all.

I think part of it is that there's about six different humanoid faces in Dragonball. If Goku had the evil-eyes and a widow's peak, he'd look the same too.

Well, yeah, of course there is that; it just seems odd that Toriyama couldn't have made them look a little less similar considering the short space of time between their appearances, is all.

Whaoooh I have never noticed that before. Perhaps we have all got it wrong Table is Radditz' long lost son!

Seriously tho, the resemblance is uncanny, If it wasn't for the long pointy hair Radditz would be a tall Vegeta... Scary stuff.
