Are they the same?

Are they the same?

Is the Dragonball anime the same as the manga? I mostly interested in DBZ at the moment. :)

If I actually know what you mean with this...

The Dragonball manga is both Dragonball and Dragonball Z in one, although Viz changed this to add / end to confusion by renaming the manga to "Dragonball Z" at about volume 17, where the Z storyline actually started.

If this is more a question about filler scenes, there's actually a guide about that on the main site, in progress. Hopefully you can get a good idea of the differences from the little there is at the moment.

No, I mean. Are they exactly different or are there some things that the Z anime left out that the manga has? :?

Minor things, like the decapitation of a man by #20, Freeza killing Cargo on Namek, and a slightly more graphic death of Babidi, as I recall. But nothing Earth-shattering or plot-changing. :)

I forgot that guy wasn't decapitated in the anime. It's been years since I have looked at my tapes form the Androids saga.

Babidi's death was even more gruesome in the manga? Damn, and I thought it was pretty fuckin' bloody in the anime...

How was his death in the manga? I've only seen the manga as far as the US release.

Strangulation and decapitation, followed by explosion... if I remember correctly.

Decapitation by a punch in the face, nontheless. Must've hurt.
