Request: Dragon Ball openings and endings
Well, now that the DB Dragon Box is out (it is, right?), I guess at least one person on this board bought it.
So, would it be possible to rip the openings and endings not included on the FUNi DVDs and post them for us normal people to enjoy as well?

He means that DragonBall has multiple openings, and FUNi only uses one on their US DVD releases.SuperFusion wrote:Theres the english version, then theres the Japanese version.. hmm.... You never stated which one you would like. I don't have the DVD's but VegettoEX sure does.
I can rip it if you want, I just need pointers for when the intro changes.

The second opening (FUNi used the first one only) is used on episodes 102-153.
As for the endings, FUNi used the second one.
The first is used for the 15 first episodes, then the second is used for most of the series. It changes to a third one with episode 102, and there's a fourth one which is first used in epiosde 133.
So I'm interested in the second opening, and the first, third and fourth ending.

The first intro (which FUNimation uses) goes from episodes 1-101. The second is from episodes 102-153.MajinVejitaXV wrote:I can rip it if you want, I just need pointers for when the intro changes.
As for the ending, the first is episodes 1-14, the second (the one used by FUNi) is episodes 15-101. The third ending animation is episodes 102-132, while the fourth carries it through the rest of the series, from 133-153. (Note: The first three endings are all very similar, except that the second intro adds Lunch and Kuririn, and the third adds Karin-sama, Tenshinhan and Chiao-tzu.)
Actually... Mike and I would appreciate rips of all these, too, so... uh... pretty please?

Well, my fiancee's stepfather did just build a system with a dual layer DVD+R burner ;pVegettoEX wrote:23.976 progressive, 720x480, HuffyUV, sent to me snail mail on CD-R/DVD-R...MajinVejitaXV wrote:Any specs you want to rips to match? Format/Size/Resolution/etc.?
Seriously, do you want me to encode a certain way? I've messed with just about every codec/format there is, and I'm confident I can make a copy that would live up to even your standards ;p

Not to butt my nose in here, but what speed is your connection? If both you and VegettoMike have super OMG fast connections, then you might as well go for broke and make it ultra-high quality. After all, each intro/outro is less than two minutes long. And you could send them individually.
I will marry you if you do this, BTW.

I have cable. The things I encoded before were XVid, roughly 10mb/minute. Nice quality by all accounts, I can do that if you'd prefer. I just know Mike usually uses MPEG for his video files.
Get back to me, and I'll rip the necessary files and set them up to encode tomorrow evening, as I try to translate a game using a kanji dictionary...and make very, very slow progress

Do you know how to use VOBEdit or VOBSplit? (I forget which I've used; you can get 'em offa doom9)
If you can cut me some VOBs of just the openings/endings, that'd freakin' rock. I'm also on cable.

If they're not too huge (like, say, 15 Mb), send them individually to fredrju@online.no

Guess I'll have to show off my mad encoding skillz with the Xvid/DivX when/if I ever get off my ass and build my own site. How do you wanna do this? AIM? FTP? E-mail? Get back to me, and we'll set it up this evening. I can also give you the Head Cha La variants if ya want, or anything else from DB/DBZ for that matter.

Well, if you're doing requests, I'd quite like all the DBGT endings, since they only use one for the BW dub. But since you can actually buy them, I suppose it's not really an urgent thing.

Sorry, only DB/DBZ stuff. DBGT isn't out yet (as a Toei boxset), and even when it does come out...eh, I dunno if I'm gonna buy it.PsyLiam wrote:Well, if you're doing requests, I'd quite like all the DBGT endings, since they only use one for the BW dub. For the record, I don't want VOB files for bootlegging, or anything... I merely want to completely and accurately finish the "Animation Gallery." My AIM is BejitoEX; I've got it set up to only allow people on my own buddy list, though, so I'll need your name before you can see me. Feel free to PM it if you don't want others seeing it. AIM would probably work best... I don't have an FTP set-up anywhere.

I know, I'm just playing with you. Yeah, bootlegging the intros and end animations for DragonBall...lots of buyers for that. You'd need to add horrible subtitles in english and chinese anyway ("Let's fry, fry, fry"?) ;pVegettoEX wrote:For the record, I don't want VOB files for bootlegging, or anything... AIM name is in my profile here, and the same as my name on the boards anyhow. We'll try and see if we can get a stable connection.
