Best capture cards or external vhs capture devices?

Post by BrollysKin » Sat Sep 20, 2008 9:38 pm

I have some older material, both DBZ and famil related that I would like to finally transfer on to my PC. In the end I would like to be able to make dvds out of it, however the editing part isn't my problem, it's the actual transfer that's puzziling me.

I have tried some of pinnacles products and I cant even get the video on to the PC because of electronic noise that seems to be caused somewhere throughout the usb connection, so I may like to try a transfer card.

You can either get an image capture device that records the footage coming straight of of you VCR or DVD player (great for recording video game footage) or you can use a DVD recording DVD player (I have the Panasonic DMR-ES46V and it works great) to transfer your VHS's straight to DVD with the same device in real-time; from there you can take the unencripted DVD's and rip the footage on your PC with that Pinnacle software.

Hope this helps, if you need any more info on either method please ask!

Yeah I am looking for a direct capture card that will hook my vcr up to the pc. I have had bad luck with pinnacle usb products, so I would be looking for an actual card.
