Actually, Cell did display the ability to absorb many human beings and Piccolo did mention that it did increase his power level.

Of course we don't know if Cell is capable of absorbing any other life forms (except for Namekians which he did also do...partially) so you can justifiably assume that he is incapable of absorbing any (if not most depending on who he fights) of his opponents in this tournament....

In Dragonball GT, Cell partially absorbs Chibi Kakarrot and he gets a momentary power boost in the process.

First off, GT, Cell's tail was retracted at all times and didn't seem to be able to extend initially, second, yeah, the fact that he absorbs people and gains a power boost is already implied, but absorbing other androids and turning into some kind of "Ultimate Cell" is a big stretch.

I only said Trunks's name that way because I was trying to be a silly fangirl.
Anyway, Salagir said a long time ago that this Trunks would definitely appear eventually, so no surprise for me, just happy to finally see him.

"Filler" is probably not the right word, since "filler" is a term used to mean non-canonical footage used to fill in some extra time in the animation, usually so that the anime doesn't "catch up" to the manga....leaving them with no source material to adapt.

But people use "filler" more or less to refer to all non-canonical footage, i.e., footage not directly adapted specifically from the contents of the manga. GT is considered "filler" in that sense.

This doesn't seem the case to me, though. We have plenty of movie characters in there, like Broly and Cooler. So I don't think Rambo's point is correct.

I understood that along time ago, I was just pointing out that GT was not “filler” and even if SSj_Rambo decides that, the manga is “his own” canon that does not mean that everyone believes that to be the case. Dragonball Multiverse was not following the manga per’se either as Super Ghost Kamikaze mentioned by the inclusion of the movie characters; it has a canon unto itself, also Salagir added some original characters or at least some new designs.

I do consider DBGT to be filler, and that is because "filler" is by definition footage created to fill time that is not based directly off of the original work. And since nothing in GT is directly based off of the manga and it was created solely to extend the show I do consider it filler...or at least in the same category as filler.

When I said that Multiverse follows "the canonical path" I meant that the characters and instances that Multiverse uses that are actually based on Dragonball (that means excluding the original characters) are based on canonical facts and events. This does not mean that I believe that Multiverse falls into the same timeline/universe as the manga, just that everything that it contains is based off of the canonical universe (excluding the movie characters; in which case everything in Multiverse about them is based off of the movies which is the most authoritative source of information on those characters and events since that is their original context).

Basically what I’m saying is that the characters and events in Multiverse that are the from the manga can be backed and proved with canonical information. This all stemmed from me saying that facts and events from GT wouldn’t really fit in Multiverse and that is because all of the facts and events that you can derive from GT (and use in Multiverse) cannot be be backed and proved using canonical information (in most cases; and in the case that was brought up [the Cell abortion crap])

Can we really call him Future Trunks in this setting? He's the same age as Trunks in the regular timeline here.

I guess we could call them Trunks and Mirai-Trunks. Or we can go with my suggestion and call Trunks from the alternate time line (You know, the one where everyone dies) "Cool-Trunks" and the Trunks from the normal time line "Eventually-Turns-Gay-In-GT-Trunks." Personally I prefer the latter.

I just vote for Mirai. When he was first seen, he was from the future, and no matter how much time goes by, he'll always have been from the future.
