I've seen a few people here that are from Oz here but want to know if there is any more local DB/Z fans.

There are 20 members located in Australia on this page: http://db.schuby.org/daizex/memberlist. ... start=1550
I'd suggest looking through that members list to find any others.

We're a nation built on convicts, everyone's families (save the indigenous population) emigrated here at some point, so you're a dinky di true blue Aussie my friend.Captain-Sora wrote:Although I wasn't born there, I live in Australia.
And I really don't see this topic lasting awfully long, unless we can inject some Dragonball into the conversation.
...
Madman is having a big October sale, which means there are some pretty hefty discounts (up to 40%) on some of the older Dragonball DVD's (the three movie packs, GT, a small discount on the DB sets)

I know, I'm just saying I wasn't born here. Not much history of our family has ever been based here, possibly not at all but that's exaggerating a bit(since, as you said, everyone's family has immigrated here at some point), I only arrived here like seven years ago. I'm not an official citizen either, lol. >_>Captain Awesome wrote:We're a nation built on convicts, everyone's families (save the indigenous population) emigrated here at some point, so you're a dinky di true blue Aussie my friend.Captain-Sora wrote:Although I wasn't born there, I live in Australia.

Wow! I thought I was the only member from New Zealand on here. lolBussani wrote:New Zealand here, just across the ocean.
I know what you mean, I only know one person apart from me who also lives in New Zealand and knows the true origin of the japanese version of Dragonball, everyone I know who talks about the show just think it's a kids show. That's because they've never seen the uncut/japanese version.ACCloud wrote:I'm Australian. Good to know there are still other Aussie DB fans =)
Sadly, it's not the best place to live if you like Japanese series of any kind...
Oh well, Dragonball rules! =P

Yeah, mostly the teenagers of today think like that, basically you have to hate everything animated or actually any decent things, follow fads and actually be dumb enough to support terrible films such as the "*insert title* movie" films(like Epic Movie or the recent one, Disaster movie). To me, the general teen community are basically just opposite versions of Japanophiles but are just as worst.

Of course, not all teens are bad though, just the overall amount of teenagers poisoned by fads, there are many who don't annoy and jerk around with anime lovers, and of course, there are A LOT of teenage anime fans. And adult fans of course.DragoonClawNZ wrote:So true, I know how you feel.Captain-Sora wrote:Yeah, mostly the teenagers of today think like that, basically you have to hate everything animated or actually any decent things, follow fads and actually be dumb enough to support terrible films such as the "*insert title* movie" films(like Epic Movie or the recent one, Disaster movie). For me, I've been a major fan of the series for a long time, although I'm not a dub hater nor a fan of the dub either, I'm basically so-so with both versions. I mostly enjoy reading the manga overall. Also I like to draw Dragonball fan art and even make DB comics, I have one fan manga I'm planning to do but I'm still busy working on some stuff for it before I truly begin the project though.

Most of the people on here I'm friendly with on here are Australians, it's either by coincidence or that friendly stereotype.
