Instead of creating an entirely new thread, I felt that this should be an appropriate spot to ask a few quick questions.
First of all, has Madman entertainment done some modifications to the box art and packaging for the Dragonball collection sets?
http://www.madman.com.au/actions/catalo ... hannelId=1
Secondly, for anybody who owns the Madman Dragonball DVD box set, or individual releases, how are they? Were you satisfied? Was it up to par with the North American releases?

Most of my recent stuff is actually in my latest Myspace pic thingy.
The Mystic Gohan I got at a K-Mart around here. The Four Star and One Star balls I got from someone on here. (Who's name escapes me at the moment. Sorry!)
What a mix, eh? Again, a second Mystic Gohan, this time to go on the wall. The incredibly awesome poster (Seriously. The only one that could be better would be one of Gohan and Vi kissing.) came from the same person as the Dragonballs.
And then there are these.
From the same person. I calls it the "Son-Satan Family Photo Album", just because.
Not exactly impressive by most of the standards set here, but hey, I like it. That's all that matters, right?

I can answer those!
Madman have changed the packaging from a hard card box containing the 2 disc sets, to just a regular fat-pack like the season sets, however the content on the discs is unchanged, and what I can see the cover art is much nicer.
As for their quality, they're great, they are identical to the US releases in terms of footage, they are uncut and bilingual not to mention dirt cheap ($200 for 153 episodes) they're also in 4:3.
My advice, snap them up before the inevitable cropped wide-screen release that will look worse and cost more.

I'm sorry Captain Awesome, but what are you referring to? The Dragon Ball series? I have the Mad Man series (well, 7 out of 10 DVDs) and quite frankly, I love em. I paid $200 on them off of Ebay. Where the World Tournament Saga was going around for like $50 all by itself. Screw that. Plus they were shipped to me within the next two days. And I didn't have to worry about that little fee for shipping it from Australia to my place. The ONLY problem is, I can't watch it on anything but my computer. And I already have like 6 DVD players at my place, and one built into my TV as well as my PS3, so I don't want to get another one just to watch it. I'll watch it on the computer, but that's so annoying.

Made a deal on Ebay to buy the R4 Dragonball Volumes 2+3 plus the artbox for 46 dollars plus shipping. This deal came about because I didn't want to buy the other packaging for Madman's new DVDs and get discs I couldn't re-sell.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Thanks for the quick reply Cap! Will do. However, I do have one more question, a little nit picky, but I gotta know. Are these fat-packs measures in the same heightxwidth of the season sets?

Holy shit, that looks even more awesome than before!
I hope the version I buy from Sanity is this version, I don't think I want the ugly old box with all the single volumes in rather than this sexy space saver!

Eh?
I think you need to re-read my post, I was singing the praises of the Madman DB box sets.

I encourage you to buy from Madman themselves, Sanity will price gouge you every chance they get, they're the worst place to buy dvd's in Australia, and last time I checked, Madman had great international shipping rates.

Well here are my purchases within the the last few weeks (served for your pleasure on a lazy MS Paint-made collage).
It's a bigger lot than usual, but being here has inspired (and by inspired, I mean you all made me feel inadequate) to put even more effort into my collection.

Yo! Cal's the name. Nice to meet you!

I will soon have to burn it so that it will not be found (yes throwing it in the trash would be easier but I like fire) so I'd thought I'd put it up here so that I'd have a digital copy and because I just felt like it.
*Edit:
Burn! Burn! Burn!
Do forgive my ignorance, but... what exactly am I supposed to notice here?
Anyway, my latest purchase... nothing in recent memory. I mean to pick up IW on Sunday, though.
New to the forum? Just want to know when you'll hit your next posting rank? Ever wondered why some users have special titles, and what they mean? The answers to all these questions and more are waiting for you in the Kanzenshuu Member Hierarchy Guide!!
