How so?, by comparing screen caps and coming to the conclusion that they look bad?

Or do I have to purchase this set to have an opinion?

I think it looks a lot better then the Funi singles and so far they look the same as the last four seasons.

Especially in my eyes because there are no jaggies that seem prevalent on the FUNi singles.

I for one, am just thankful that i can afford DBZ with 3 of my dream audio options AND Steve's awesome subs. And for once...i thank FUNi for that.

That's the interlacing, if you're watching them on your TV it doesn't look anywhere near as bad.

No, it is a step back. As I mentioned, the presentation looks an awful lot like Season One without the film tearing and missing lines. Specifically from how the colors come out.

I disagree. I'd say the colors look like they did as they were in Season Six. But the missing lines and tearing is the main issue for me, this season doesn't have any, so i'm happy.

Does anyone think that they will re-re-release DBZ without the widescreen shitty look after this re-release?

Wasn't it stated that FUNimation cropped their masters? If so then I highly doubt that they will go and repurchase 4x3 ones from Toei.

I don't really understand how they could go and just crop the masters. I believe they would have to make a second copy that would be the cropped one. Unless they just threw away (or gave back) the master, I would think they still have them.

I dunno, I could see them doing it in the future when they decide they want to rerelease the series again.

Wait, are they really interlaced? Wasn’t “24p” a major selling point for these?

I was fiddling around with my Season Six footage recently, and they are most definitely NOT interlaced. It was telling me they were 100% progressive FILM, and I easily edited them as such. :?

It's simple. They didn't.

The guy who's remastering the series, who wasn't into Dragon Ball prior to working on it, did. :?
