DBZ Infinite World Soundtracks

Post by Tsukento » Mon Oct 27, 2008 3:56 pm

Dunno if this has been mentioned before, but I noticed a couple of entries over at Play-Asia.

Infinite World Opening Soundtrack - December 25, 2008
Infinite World Soundtrack - January 07, 2009

So it seems like the first one is just the single for the opening theme (performed by none other than Hironobu Kageyama) and the second being the soundtrack from the game itself. No cover art yet and it seems like a relatively recent announcement since neither CD Japan or YesAsia have it listed on their sites.

Nice to know that we get a new bgm soundtrack. I'd assume that would mean that IW has some new music, rather than just rehashing old Budokai music, although I'd be fine having both in that game.

Huge relief!
If the new music we're getting will be enough to fit a soundtrack, then every important aspect of a video game has been fufilled for me!
Purchase release, along with Infinite World.

Those CDs are finally listed on CDJapan:

PlayStation 2 Game "Dragon Ball Z Infinite World" Main Theme
PS2 Game Dragon Ball Z Infinite World Original Soundtrack

And on Neowing, it says that the opening and ending themes and the English version of the opening theme are going to be on the Infinite World Main Theme CD. I didn't even know that Infinite World was going to have an ending theme. Interesting.

By English version, are we talking Mr. Kageyama actually singing in Engrish...or the typical Atari crap where they only give the US a non-lyrical opening?

It's most likely Kageyama singing it in English again, considering Kageyama's latest DBZ game soundtracks are always released in a certain batch of versions, there's no doubt the "Main Theme CD" will contain the same following:

-The theme in Japanese
-The theme in English
-The theme's Instrumental Version

AND, if the "Ending" theme is also a new song, then it'll most likely contain an English, Japanese and instrumental version on the disk as well.

I take it based on this release that the Japanese version won't have any music from the show. On the bright side, I always enjoyed the Budokai soundtracks (well, 1-3 at least), so I'll look forward to this. I wish whoever actually makes these games allowed for custom soundtracks. Faulconer's music worked so well in the latter two Legacy of Goku games, and I'd love to put some of it in while I'm fighting in a console game (since it will probably never be included as BGM for any DBZ fighter ever).

Did I see that someone found the title to the game's opening theme, or am I just making that up in my memory? Julian and myself don't see it on any of the pages we are looking at.

I found the title to the game's opening theme. It's called 光のさす未来へ! (Hikari no Sasu Mirai e!). If you watch the promotional video on the official site, at about 2 minutes 45 seconds into the video, it'll say the title of the song.

While I'm glad to see new music being made, I've gotta say I'm not feeling this song like the other themes they've recorded the past several years. Maybe it'll grow on me.

How is the instrumental version available if the CD is not out yet?

Don't ask me, I'm not the person who uploaded it. Probably ripped from the game or something, I dunno.

Oh if it's from the game, then nevermind then that's easy to do and to upload. The quality from the CD-single would probably be better though.

If you ask me the music is going downhill, all the budokais 1 2 and 3 have real good, awesome music. But burst limit and infinite world just don't have the funky kick as the past soundtracks.
