GT Dragonbox x Singles x Season set- Comparison

Post by disturbed001 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 1:29 pm

Would it be too much to ask for someone to make a comparison of a shot from the GT season set trailer with Dragonbox and Funi singles shot?

If this is unnecessary this can just be locked or deleted.

They did it with the Z sets so I don't see why it can't be done for GT. I am also curious as to how they differ.

It would be wiser to wait for the atual sets. The trailers can really differ from the actual set.

My thoughts exactly. I'm sure there will be plenty of comparisons once people start getting the set in about a month.

I'd do some singles vs Dragon Box comparisons if my FUNi singles weren't in storage. :(

I would do it, but I don't know how to get frame-accurate.

Eh. It's not as though anyone's gonna be forced to wait for all that long. Figure, the set is less than four weeks away from release, and at least one or two of us are bound to get it a week or so earlier than everyone else (like what happens with every other set). So before you even buy it, you'll have all the comparisons you'll need, straight from the source.

I also like that we'll be done with GT in two sets. So no long period of waiting.
The series doesn't start with the arrival of Raditz. Stop being lazy and watch Dragonball.

Quite frankly, I'm amazed that FUNimation has decided on just two. I was really counting on them stretching this release into three boxes.

Guess the fans aren't the only ones who wanna hurry up and get GT out of the way. :D

I'm surprised they aren't making it 5 seasons to really milk it.

My thoughts originally were that they were going to break the sets into:

Season 1: Black Star Dragonballs up until Mu's death
Season 2: Baby's arrival on Earth up until his defeat
Season 3: Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons

Which averages out to between 20 and 22 episodes per box.

Even if these are widescreen, I'm considering picking up the second box for the GT tv special, FUNimation's original is full of motion blur and is just plain ugly, hopefully it's an encoding issue, and not a problem with their masters.

I think we can safely assume that these are not going to be in widescreen. That's all I'm gonna' say...

I'm such a stickler for consistency, that I'd rather have wide screen GT, just to suit my OCD tendencies.

I don't think the trailer was really indicative of anything, after all the original "Lost Episodes" boxset trailer was in 16x9

To be honest, I'd actually kinda have to agree. I know that widescreen isn't the series native format, but if GT turns out to be in fullscreen . . . well, it's only going to make me really, really pissy about Z being the opposite. At least if they're all (badly) consistent with one another, I can live a little better knowing that Z wasn't the only one to get butchered.

I know how you feel.

Besides, FUNimation has been going for consistency lately.
