I'm such a stickler for consistency, that I'd rather have wide screen GT, just to suit my OCD tendencies.
To be honest, I'd actually kinda have to agree. I know that widescreen isn't the series native format, but if GT turns out to be in fullscreen . . . well, it's only going to make me really, really pissy about Z being the opposite. At least if they're all (badly) consistent with one another, I can live a little better knowing that Z wasn't the only one to get butchered.

I feel like disagreeing with this in that I want FUNi to at least give one of the series a proper release. It would be nice if FUNi put out a series that was somewhat true to what it was intended. That and GT is actually my second favorite series behind the second half of Z (Buu).

I really do think it will be fullscreen though. I think it's been brought up that FUNi only has digibeta and not film. So, I'm pretty convinced.

Also, has anyone wondered why Wal-Mart's website says that the two GT sets are "TV-14"? Considering the Z sets are "TV-PG" I don't see why FUNi would change it other than to attract buyers. That or Wal-Mart messed up with that.

That's all well and good, but technically speaking? GT already got a proper fullscreen release, and a damn good one at that-- better than anything else DragonBall related by leaps and bounds. Hell, the singles have episode previews. This is why I'm not going to keel over and die if the Season Sets for GT end up cropped-- if I want 100% proper where all of GT is concerned, I don't have to bitch and moan like with Z; it's already out there.

Eh, time will tell. It wouldn't surprise me either way, honestly.

It's Wal-Mart. They're not too bright.

That's so backward, Z should of got the TV-14, and GT should get the TV-PG if anything. *Shakes fists at FUNi*...*Or Wal-Mart*

Neither should get a PG-14 rating; it's a freaking children's show. Hell, DragonBall was the most "PG-14"-worthy of them all.

Considering Blue Gender gets TV-PG on their DVDs, I don't see how any of them should get a TV-14. Blue Gender should have a TV-14 or even TV-MA. All of FUNi's ratings seem to make sense, except for One Piece, which should be TV-PG. But, if Bleach can get a "TV-14" on [adult swim] with no violence or anything in it on some episodes then I don't see why any of these shows couldn't get it as well.

I think people have mis-understood me. What I meant to say was, out of Z and GT, that Z was the closer out of the 2 for perhaps getting a TV-14. Not Z should get the rating.

Oh, I didn't misunderstand ya. And yeah, between Z and GT, PG-14 would make more sense for Z. It's just that when I think about the series-- any of it-- I can't imagine anything that would warrant that kind of rating. Even the OG borders on an occasional PG rating at worst.

So at an attempt to keep things on topic, can anyone make a screenshot comparison for the 3 GT versions? even though the trailer isn't final I'd like to know if its footage other than Dragonbox and the already released singles.

Even though I say still that there's no harm in waiting, I'll be honest and say that I would if I had all the required source material. I have no DragonBox footage, though.

Sorry. :(

What I'd like to know is, will these GT sets get the same treatment as the DBZ Remastered DVDs in regards to audio? When it comes to Z, I kind of like the dubbed music, but I can't stand the soundtrack FUNimation created for GT. So will we have the option to watch it with English voices and Japanese music?

That's there's a rockin' 99.9% certainty, good buddy.

Alright! That's certainly good news. I guess I'm gonna have to pick those up once they come out. I've never seen GT in Japanese, so I'm actually pretty curious about the soundtrack.

Sure, GT definitely isn't the high point of the Dragonball series, but the Dragon Saga isn't half bad.

I'm surprised no one brought this up, but anyone else worried about the dialogue not being changed?

I mean...the Para Para Bros. are gonna sound weird as hell rapping to aerobics dance music. o_O;
