Wal-Mart has Season 7 for $30 instore, which is where I got mine. That certainly isn't bad.
Since I've watched the majority of the set, it seems to me at least, that the remastering for these episodes is inconsistant. The Otherworld Tournament and early Great Saiyaman episodes look pale and washed-out like Season 2-ish, but the "World Tournament" episodes look a bit more detailed, grainy, and more like their 4:3 counterparts. So I'm guessing that the film masters FUNi used for this batch of episodes varied in quality.
Whatevs, doesn't really matter to me that much. I'm looking forward to the Powered-up Gohan-Vegetto-Kid Boo portion of the series, which is when I actually started to enjoy the Boo arc more. These early episodes on Season 7 seem more like a transition and setup right now...

Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I agree, quality is all over the place, but I do not think it ever gets as bad as season. But in general I really like some of the early Buu stuff, some of it is really funny like Gohan playing baseball.

Yeah I noticed this too. I still need to get my Cooler movie though :Stheoriginalbilis wrote:Wal-Mart has Season 7 for $30 instore, which is where I got mine. That certainly isn't bad.

I honestly forgot how much crappy filler this set has. The otherworld tournament could have been longer and had, you know, actual fights while the Great Saiyaman episodes go on forever.
Seriously, I hate the writers at Toei, I mean come on. Goku has only been alive for 20 some odd years, yet he is the strongest fighter in the afterlife, which is full of guys who have been training for thousands of years under the Kaios, give me a fucking break. They could have at least had him lose to Paikuhan, that way we would know he had motivation to train, and the fact he beats everyone else at a non powered up base form is ridiculous.

True, but it would make it hard for them to match up with the Supreme Kai and others then, if he didn't break through all the power ceilings in Heaven too.omegacwa wrote:I honestly forgot how much crappy filler this set has. In a universe where someone with a PL of a couple thousand is considered "strong" or "elite," someone with Cell-Games Goku's level of power, even at base, is really is a freak of nature in comparison.

So you guys are telling me, that people who have gone through comparable training to Goku, over a much longer, thousands of years, span of time can never be as strong as Goku just because he is a Saiyan? That's stupid, in my opinion. I mean, I like the Saiyans and all, but that's just down right lunacy if there is no other race in the universe that could attain that kind of power over THOUSANDS of years of training.
Super Saiyan. Those are actually really rare. Regular Saiyans aren't much special compared to other races.omegacwa wrote:So you guys are telling me, that people who have gone through comparable training to Goku, over a much longer, thousands of years, span of time can never be as strong as Goku just because he is a Saiyan?
But you're right, it doesn't make very much sense.

Haven't you ever heard Vegeta's incessant babbling, stuff like "the saiyans are the ultimate warrior race" and the like? I don't think he's just blowing hot air and like Kaboom said, Goku is a super saiyan and I hear they're pretty toughomegacwa wrote:So you guys are telling me, that people who have gone through comparable training to Goku, over a much longer, thousands of years, span of time can never be as strong as Goku just because he is a Saiyan? They didn't have the special training Goku did though. Just milling around by yourself, even for a long time, doesn't do much.omegacwa wrote:So you guys are telling me, that people who have gone through comparable training to Goku, over a much longer, thousands of years, span of time can never be as strong as Goku just because he is a Saiyan? Here are some screencaps:

Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

Now, is this the bitrate slipping, or is it grain? I can't tell.
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Probably both. But hey, that's probably nothing compared to the singles. There were probably macroblocks everywhere for that.bkev wrote:Now, is this the bitrate slipping, or is it grain? I can't tell.

I'm talking about the marital artist that spent thousands of years training with the Kaios, and other martial artists on Grand Kaio's world. They have had load's of special training and have trained with far more experienced fighters than Goku every could up until that point.mAcChaos wrote:They didn't have the special training Goku did though. I think there's only so much they can get taught by them, though. I mean, King Kai told Goku that he'd learned everything he could from him by the end of their time together. That didn't take that long. Then again, Goku was gifted and the tasks he did took others years and years. Plus, he was the only one to make it to Snake Way aside from Enma... so apparently there weren't that many people trained by the Kaios at all.omegacwa wrote:I'm talking about the marital artist that spent thousands of years training with the Kaios, and other martial artists on Grand Kaio's world.
