This movie seems very weapon hungry, which is strange since I don't really remember guns and such so much in Dragonball.*Based off of the Chi Chi, Mai and Bulma pics*
(not trying to start another argument, I'm just saying.)
Aro started to laugh. “Ha, ha, ha,” he chuckled.- Actual quote from Twilight

The Viz Manga had LASER BEAMS.

The original version of "DB" had guns. Loads of 'em. But yeah they didn't do much.
Archer: "I watched it over and over. Meaningless massacres, meaningless equality, meaningless happiness! I was forced to look at them even when I refused to. This is not what I wished for. I did not become a guardian for this!"

Shiro-"Archer, do you regret your actions? I won't lose to you. I don't mind losing against someone else. But I can't lose against myself"

Actually the Viz manga had guns up until very close to the end.
Anyway I know the random henchmen had guns but I'm talking about main characters.

Oh yeah then, no not really.

And the new version of the Viz manga has lasers. I'm not kidding. They are not guns. They are lasers.

Yeah, I mostly remember that guns are pretty useless in Dragon Ball. I mean, Goku, Kuririn, and Master Roshi have all been shot at repeatedly at some point by either Launch or Bulma, yet the bullets do nothing than leave one-panel bullet-holes that disappear a couple panels later.

Hopefully its not too late in the thread to ask, but is Kinto'un going to be in this movie at all?

Had a bizarre dream last night where Chatwin used Kinto'un almost like a hoverboard ala Back to the Future; though it was clearly still a yellow cloud.
On hiatus.

Kinto'un will not be in the movie.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

If we're all here for a reason then I'm just visiting.

If it's held in your heart then you can't let go.

That proves it was a dream.

Lasers may have been a better choice for the movie, at least then those guns may shoot something useful (although Mai throwing ninja stars I can't really fix.)

I wish they'd show what they are aiming at, I can't see bullets doing much good against Piccolo's demons, then again this is the movie not the anime or manga.

I've reacted to it before and probably will again, but I can't stand people who need to try to silence the opinion of others because they can't agree with it. When we get to...
SSj Kaboom wrote:But even this new policy of "new thread for each new update" isn't working, because as we can see, it just devolves into the same ol' back-and-forth, and I'm tired of these "discussions" ruining my experience.
It just rubs me the wrong way. A reasonable person who's tired of discussing something should stop discussing it. Not say "No one else can discuss this any more because I don't like it! "

I like having somewhere to go to have an opinion on the movie. Yes, it pisses me off when someone who doesn't like it tries to get to get the thread closed. Say what you want to say. Say what you like about the movie, say what you don't like about the movie. Say why you don't agree with someone else's opinion.

Don't try to dismiss things by saying the people around you are ignorant because they don't think like you. Don't say there should be no more movie discussion threads because you're tired of discussing it and it's ruining your experience when you're choosing to be here.

If I'm wrong in having this opinion then I won't raise a fuss when VegettoEX bans me. Until then, I'll be glad to say what I think about the movie in the movie discussion threads.

I apologize if it came across that way.

I still, however, stand by my point that the film does not deserve the flak that it gets. Especially when that flak directly leads to such disruption between people. That was my intended point. I don't care anymore what people think about the movie; I just want the arguments to end.

I don't expect people to think like me. I don't expect anyone to bend over to meet my standards. What I do expect is fairness.

From what I can gather though, most of the members on this forum HAS acknowledgment of what has been done 'right', and are not ignoring it.

There's just no need to re-type " I know this film has done 'this' and 'this' and 'that' right, however I shall proceed to critisize what has been done wrong right now" before (for lack of a better word) bashing the film into the ground.

Also, who are you to judge that the film should not deserve the flack that it gets? Many members of this forum have stated their reasonable explanations as to why various aspects of the film are not up to snuff. A presentation in any form is meant to be judged. Whether or not the audience accepts or denies it is subjective; personal preference. Any film, piece of music, book, script, etc, anything subjected to the consumers; the audience deserves an amount both in positive and negative praise.

Now, concerning the disruption between the folks here on the board. It should be noted that anytime these types of threads fall apart it all links to those who love to thrive upon the mocking of others' statements. If the person who made a certain statement that didn't make any sense, or if the person was ill-informed, hey, it's perfectly normal to call them out on it. However, things get out of hand once any form of intentional rudeness with a great big sign saying, " FUCK, YOU'RE STUPID " *Point and laugh with "witty" comment in hand, is put into action.I can name a few folks on the board to have done this on several occasions if not often, but I'll spare that.

I hope the CGI will be good. I remember on a TV show in Mexico the hosts went to the set and were told 60% of the movie would be done in post production, so they said "It could be good or not, depends on the CGI."

New interview with Edward French (make-up guy) on dbof.wordpress.com (translated it from portugese):

M *- could you give us your opinion on Dragonball The Movie?

Ed French - I will comment on some things: Dragonball is a film that has a constant evolution, much of which will arrive in cinemas will be created digitally and enhanced with CGI technology. All the FOX guys were shocked when they saw a part of the movie with a CGI application, and I think the fans will also be quite shocked.

M *- You made the decisions of the look of some characters?

Ed French - Well, early decisions about the "vision" of the film and design of the characters were controlled and restricted by the producers in Hollywood and the director James Wong, I just designed Piccolo's make-up and applied it.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

The movie was originally set to film ENTIRELY in front of a green screen in Montreal, so it's not surprising part of the film was shot secretly at Fox studios in Los Angeles.

Would be quite the treat if we were subjected to perhaps a high-budgeted variation of 300 or Casshern in some scenes. Cuh-ewl.

This is where movies have been literally screwing up these days when it comes to movies like this. Too much reliance on CGI with the assumption that that's all that's needed to help make a movie good.

Sometimes I'm forgetting they're trying to make a Dragon Ball movie because it sure seems like they're trying to do Dragon Ball Z instead with their own mess of a script thrown in.
