Final Bout was the first Dragon Ball game I ever owned (aside from playing ROMs of the old SNES games). I absolutely loved it, even though it is very difficult to control at times. The opening sequence was always my favorite part. At the time I got it, these things were going for $200-$250 on ebay. I was so excited to have a copy (US release) of the limited print game (mint condition too). That had a lot to do with why I liked it so much though I guess. I loved the RPG-like training part of the game where you use one character and build up their stats and level up. I never did unlock Gogeta though... sadly, but I did get SSJ4 Goku and man was that some crazy shit.Acid_Reign wrote:Thanks. I know Ultimate Battle 22 had an animation sequence like that, having bought it, but I didn’t realize there were any others. For a second there I thought it was a really good fan edit.VegettoEX wrote:Final Bout (PS1) intro.

Wine should work on PowerPC-based Macs. You should try it out.Eison wrote:Yeah, I already tried most of those applications but they don't work on a Mac OS X Tiger PowerPC G5..., but the special probably is on the internet a few minutes or hours after it is released so it doesn't matter that much.
I know it’s off-topic, but have you played the game? If so, is it any fun? UB22 was fun in its own right, albeit somewhat… underwhelming. Wondering if the other Playstation games are any different. And the avatar is from Final Bout like VegettoEX already said.

Think Super DBZ, add some suck, GT, and more suck, and you get Final Bout. The best thing about that game is the opening sequence.Acid_Reign wrote:I know it’s off-topic, but have you played the game? Worst DragonBall game ever. It was a quick cash-in on the franchise, with an almost unplayable quality. Moreover, the only good thing (the intro) was raped in the US release with...I don't know what the hell it is. Some generic bullshit.Acid_Reign wrote:I know it’s off-topic, but have you played the game? If so, is it any fun? UB22 was fun in its own right, albeit somewhat… underwhelming. Though, the voices are amusing.
...Gogeta was in Final Bout? I know they had like 7 versions of Goku, but I don't remember seeing Gogeta.I never did unlock Gogeta though... sadly, but I did get SSJ4 Goku and man was that some crazy shit.

Oh come on, it wasn't that bad of a game. I had a lot of fun with the flight control and special attacks. Damn, Cell had some long-ass legs in that game. Also, I thought that Bebi as the final boss was pretty crazy considering he could swat you like a fly, and SSJ4 Goku as the secret boss rocked. As for Ultimate Battle 22, I never liked it.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:Think Super DBZ, add some suck, GT, and more suck, and you get Final Bout. I agree outside of some awkward controls the characters had a lot of cool attacks both physical and KI based. I think a lot of the gameplay problems came from flying, since there was no targeting system you basically had to struggle to get into position with your opponent. I actually really like Final Bout...as for UB22 I think it was the craptastic looking special attacks that killed it for me.Yi Xing Long wrote:Oh come on, it wasn't that bad of a game. Nope, I unlocked Vegetto. I recall Gogeta being some sort of secret character. It may have just been a rumor though.Ex-Dubbie369 wrote:There's Vegetto, so he might be talking about him.MajinVejitaXV wrote:...Gogeta was in Final Bout? It felt extremely sluggish to me. I'll admit, the super attacks were cool for the time, but it just moved so poorly. Granted, it's most definitely not the worst fighting game ever, but it is also no where near the best. Plus, to compare it to Super DBZ, I had to add enough suck to compensate.NeptuneKai wrote:I agree outside of some awkward controls the characters had a lot of cool attacks both physical and KI based. And, I also agree that UB22 is a terrible, irredeemable pile of crap.

You sure you're not thinking of the Gotenks rumor?Yi Xing Long wrote:Nope, I unlocked Vegetto. I recall Gogeta being some sort of secret character. It may have just been a rumor though.
Eh, not so much. For me it was the fact that I could jump at an opponent and hit the punch/kick...and land behind them with no blow being throw. That and 50% of the time you'd hit a button and nothing would happen. It was just an awful game.I think a lot of the gameplay problems came from flying, since there was no targeting system you basically had to struggle to get into position with your opponent.

You must of had a busted controller, the characters did what I wanted them to do 90% of the time. Although I will admit this game had a shit ton of visual glitches.MajinVejitaXV wrote:That and 50% of the time you'd hit a button and nothing would happen. It was just an awful game.

I'm not really sure, I read one of the online mangas that are shown on Jumpland somewhere, and after accepting the download, it opens up to the jump browser automatically. So I don't think it does any of what you asked. You can still browse around the website with the jump browser open, since its a seperate window from the internet browser your using. Just download it and locate the free manga on Jumpland and see for yourself.SSj_Rambo wrote:Does the browser change any of settings for any program? Or does it just affect how you can view the Jump website?

Objectively speaking, it wasn’t that great of a game, no. But for me, I just enjoyed the novelty of it. It was technically the US release, but it felt like an import, which was cool. And plus, I got it with an Amazon gift certificate, so it’s not like I wasted my money on it or anything. I may have to pay some of these other old games a visit, though… maybe the PS3’s upscaler can make them look like the next Burst Limit! ;PEx-Dubbie369 wrote:And, I also agree that UB22 is a terrible, irredeemable pile of crap.
Anyway, I don’t know if this has been brought up before, but could the reason that the Jump Browser is a requirement for viewing the movie be that they want to make sure people don’t rip it? Maybe there’s some kind of proprietary technology in place to prevent the conventional methods. I mean, they may be showing it for free, but they probably still want to make DVD profits… just a thought; I’ve downloaded the browser but haven’t taken a look at it yet. It would be nice if there was something to test it with beforehand.

I'm 100% sure this is the case. I'm sure someone can crack it and capture the movie, but even then I worry about how the quality will be.Acid_Reign wrote:Anyway, I don’t know if this has been brought up before, but could the reason that the Jump Browser is a requirement for viewing the movie be that they want to make sure people don’t rip it?
