FUNimation and Dragonball/Z feature films...
Just wondering why FUNi is taking so long in releasing the movies. It seems that they are releasing only tone or two a year.
Also what is the wrod on the Dragonball movies? are some of those going to be redubbed since FUNi is "striving for continuity" on the dub. (that's what they said regarding the first 2 season re-dub)
I was also thinking that if FUNi could offer a supplemental disc, it would be a great idea! Somewhat like the one offered in the DragonBoxes, with commercials from Japan & US, special animation for videogames, PlayDia footage, interviews with people from Toei + FUNi, etc.

Simple - Drag on the rest of DBZ long as they can. Although I gotta admit, the DBZ movies have been getting better (eng dub wise anyways) as they take longer to get out, although it won't save Movies 10+11.
I dont know about that Plan to Destory The Saiyans though, could work, but it might mean more license headaches.

Hopefully, as Redub = Bilingual release = Happy fans = Royalties for FUNiSonGokuGT wrote: Also what is the wrod on the Dragonball movies? are some of those going to be redubbed since FUNi is "striving for continuity" on the dub. (that's what they said regarding the first 2 season re-dub)
The first movie was included on the Australian release of the Pilaf saga, though. Perhaps they'll put it in bilingual form on the American release? We can always hope.

Are you referring to the Pilaf Saga release by Kidmark or FUNimation?Adamant wrote:Hopefully, as Redub = Bilingual release = Happy fans = Royalties for FUNiSonGokuGT wrote: Also what is the wrod on the Dragonball movies? are some of those going to be redubbed since FUNi is "striving for continuity" on the dub. And I was mainly referring to "Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle" and "Mystical Adventure", which are done by FUNi, but don't use the voices later used in the TV series.
I know that Dende's VA does Goku in "Mystical Adventure", but I thought all the other voices were the same. And I'm sure Nadonly is Goku in "Sleeping Princess In Devil's Castle".

Huh? Those were both done by FUNi's in house cast. The cast has changed a bit over the years since those movies were done, but it's mostly the same people. They certainly weren't dubbed with the Ocean voices, anyway.SonGokuGT wrote:And I was mainly referring to "Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle" and "Mystical Adventure", which are done by FUNi, but don't use the voices later used in the TV series.
Plus, they both have uncut dubs, and "Mystical Adventure" is even out on bilingual DVD, so there doesn't seem to be much point in re-releasing that one. There's no excuse for "Sleeping Princess" not being out on DVD yet, though.

Mystical Adventure was released before FUNI had dubbed DB. I remember when FUNI was promoting DB they had a contest on their homepage to pick wich VA should play which character. If Nadonly already played Goku in Devil's Castle, I have no idea why they switched VAs for Mystical Adventure. Nadonly's is way better than the other one.

FUNi. I don't think the Kidmark version has been released anywhere outside the US.SonGokuGT wrote:Are you referring to the Pilaf Saga release by Kidmark or FUNimation?Adamant wrote:Hopefully, as Redub = Bilingual release = Happy fans = Royalties for FUNiSonGokuGT wrote: Also what is the wrod on the Dragonball movies? are some of those going to be redubbed since FUNi is "striving for continuity" on the dub. Hang on, doesn't Blue Water do the DragonBall dub in Canada? If so, doesn't that mean that someone other than FUNi has the rights for the show over there? How can they release a FUNi-dubbed version on DVD?
