Apparently, this was translated by a one, "Anthony Carl Kim," which sounds like either a Chinese or Korean name. I can't find any info on him, but I'm pretty sure he works for Shueisha and/or Toei in some manner. He probably referenced the manga for attack names and such.Herms wrote:-Piccolo's Makankosappo gets subbed as "Light of Death", which is Viz's name for it (and an extremely eccentric translation, so I doubt someone would independently come up with it), so maybe Viz was responsible for translating this? Does anyone know if the other attack names match Viz's?
-"Kakrotte"?
-The thing at the end with Goku eating Vegeta's sushi because he thought he wasn't going to eat it, while Vegeta was actually especially saving it for last, is very similiar to a chapter of Dr. Slump where Kinoko's father makes the same mistake.
It's not a very common expression nowadays. At least, I don't think. I remember my grandfather, of all people, using it on some occasions when I was being too much of a "rapscallion" for him.Ah, thank you. Man, my hearing's crap. I've never heard the expression "Romper Room is over" before. But then, I never heard "Don't stand on ceremony" before I saw it used in bootleg subtitles.
Also, my listening skills are pretty crap, too. Although, subbing animu has increased them a great deal.
Furthermore, I love how Lunch was at the end like "LOL HAY GAYS I WAS HERE THE ENTIRE TIME."
