I had no idea this
song had an English version, but upon hearing it I've gotta say.... IT JUST BECAME ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!! Not only is it in English, but I can actually understand what they're saying!
Ok so now that I've gotten that out of the way, does anyone have more information on this song? Was it done by the same group who did the original version and when was this created?
Oh yes, and before anyone goes and says "there's a site too" just hold your tongue this time because I
did in fact check the music guide first

The FUNi dub, or the Phillipino dub? Or is there one by the original artist, Mr. Kageyama?
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
Too bad it didn't have the original instrumental like most of the world did.

I like this version better actually, but that's way beside the point, I just want more information on this if anyone has it.

I don't know why, but to me it sounds like sting is singing the song. It sounds like him or is it only me going crazy? Probably me going crazy lol.

Juust a little. I hear it though. This version was produced by FUNimation, and that's all I know.

I believe it's the FUNimation dub. I like it a lot. The bass line is funky, and I like funky bass.
There's an English version of Romantic Night as well.

I don't know if there's much more to know about it. As opposed to the original composition of "
Get That DragonBall!" from 1995 (and the entirely replaced musical score), FUNimation's re-attempt at the original DB TV series used the original Japanese BGM, and English "verisons" (note: these are not "translations") of both the opening and ending themes.

w0rd. Hiroki Takahashi.

There are no DB songs with that title; perhaps you're referring to "
Romantikku Ageru yo" ("
I'll Give You Romance!")? But yes, as noted above, FUNimation also used an English "version" of the DB TV series closing theme for their continued dub of the series.

I'll never understand why the couldn't just do this with Cha La Head Cha La and Dan Dan. Especially with the box sets. They went back and put the original music in! It takes 2 seconds to do something right. 2 freaking seconds...
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

Maybe they are not putting the original japanese themes and inserts songs so in the future they can release new season sets by saying in the back, "digitally remastered with the original japanese opening and ending themes and insert songs", somethin along those lines.

Yeah, thats the one. My bad.

I think the Instrumental version of Ch La Head Cha La is sweet. The lyrics would be weird translated. I'm not sure there's any way you can make "nut-scented alien" not sound strange in English.

It actually does have an original instrumental!

When the funimation Dragonball site was completely Flash based the music playing the background was the instrumental for that song, though it's in rather poor quality, but it's listenable. I could send it to you if you PM me :p

The English versions of the Dragon Ball songs aren't translated though, they changed the lyrics. They could easily rewrite the lyrics to Head Cha La and WE GOTTA POWER as well.

The Funi version actually sounds better than the Japanese version. The instrumentals are similar, but Funi's is more catchy.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!
