The Legendary Super-Saiyan, a cover up?

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

Well given that the various 'USSJ' forms are gained through trying to 'push' through the Saiyajin wall instead of 'going over it' as it were, maybe LSSJ is indeed USSJ3. Broli didn't exactly have any kind of self control or discipline, and his rage and hatred could have propelled him through the various USSJ forms without need to 'do it properly' in the way that the Z senshi did for SSJ2/3.

I already stated how that's not the case, and how Broly was indeed in control.

There was no leveling up through various USSJ forms. Legendary SSJ is Broly, and vice versa. It's a form all its own, which can not be obtained through any other means, other than being born with/into it.

And lacking discipline doesn't mean he wasn't in control. He's just a maniacal, heartless, killing machine. They kept calling him "akuma" (悪魔 - devil) throughout the film. He even called himself that as well. He knows what he's doing. There's no lack of a thought process, there.

Spazicon

I think that you have provided the best explanation is that I have run across in a while of who and what Broli truly is.
The Saiyans are very much like the Klingons and Jem'Hadar.

By lack of self control and discipline, I meant simply that he obviously didn't have to train himself in order to get it, he could have gotten angry enough (at Goku for example, or the Vegeta family, or at the clouds in the sky) that he simply 'took' the transformation. Mind over matter, in the strictest sense.

I'm sure you experience all kinds of lovely, intense emotions quite often when you're nuttier than a fruitcake.

I always understood Broli to be more mentally retarded than crazy, to be honest, especially in the second movie.

I think the ice messed up his brain a bit.

Yeah, people tend to think of Broly as a screaming idiot (which I have to admit makes him GREAT fodder for humor-oriented fanfiction), but he wasn't turned into that until the second movie. In the first, he was cold, ruthless, sadistic, but knew fully well what he was doing, and reveled in it. That's what made him a cool villain. But only in THAT movie. After that he turned into a gumby and then into Swamp-Thing.

Movie #11 had so much potential, Toei could have rectified the mindless monster theme that occurred in Movie #10 but no they had to pull something else even more idiotic out of their collective behinds.

Broly looks so sexy. He needs more specials, pronto. Or at least his own manga detailing his life prior to getting whipped by Goku, and his kin.

Hell, I may give the ol' fan-manga a shot in the near future.

And yea, while I enjoyed "Bio-Broly", it was wasted potential. Being cloned again was a second chance for his character, but then he gets a vat of turds dumped on his head. =/

 I was not implying anything it is just I have only heard female fans make statements such as that one. Now I see that it was a joke.

Oh and the defeat at the hands of the “Idiot Family” was just as ridiculous as the “Toei Punch”.
