Still, cheap set. I'll pick it up to steal the subtitles once it hits $20 or so at my local shops ;p

That's exactly what I am doing for my GT DragonBox, lol!

As for the dubbing, good. I am glad they did this, too bad they didn't do it for Z. Sad to see the next episode previews gone.

It's TV-PG.

Also, it's strange. The set contains 34 episodes, but the trailer for the next set states that were will be 32 episodes, as well as the TV Special. Maybe upping the first set from 32 to 34 was a last minute decision (Most likely so having SS4 Goku on the cover would actually make some sense)

So the TV special has been confirmed in season 2, that's fucking sweet.

I have a question though. Whats Funi's excuse for not providing a second angle. Because they did it with the Z sets, so why the fuck dont they do it with th GT sets.

If any of you have ever watched Disney's "The Incredibles" in widescreen, just be glad it isn't like that. I saw it on NBC last week, and there was a good 3-4 inches cut off of the top and bottom.
Err, The Incredibles was a widescreen film. Unless NBC was showing a 4:3 copy and cropping it, in which case...well, it's be retarded and it'd be exactly the same as DragonBall Z being cropped (with the good 3-4 inches or 20% of the picture being lost...only then, it'd be a cropped Pan and Scan which means you'd lose about 40% or so of the picture) ;p
I'm just saying that the bars are really big on The Incredibles, even though it was made like that. They could have done that with the Z sets, and left only about 5 inches in the middle for us to view.

It's a small price to pay considering that we got the songs and it's original 4:3 aspect ratio.

A few good things must lead to negatives...with Dragon Ball FUNi releases anyway.

Wow. I'm really impressed with what Funi did with the intro. English covers are always fun. I think I might even like it better than Blue Waters (which I love). It's weird though, how Funi and Blue Water can be covering the exact same song with the exact same melody, and yet the lyrics can be so different.

I completley agree with you, I just find it strang that they have 2 angle for Z and that they didn't carry that over with these sets.

Oooh, you mean because it's a 2.35:1 film. Gotcha. Standard widescreen, like FUNi cropped DragonBall Z to, is 1.78:1.

You loved the Blue Water intro? I...i'm sorry, but that has nothing on Broli, i mean Vic signing it with accurate translations.

Well, here's a comparision shot...
Season Set:

Funimation Single:

It's a bit cleaner than the single. While not Dragonbox quality it still looks good. I think they did a much better job with this than how they went overboard with Z.

Its just that Blue Water isn't as accurate of a translation, right?

Anyway, if Vic sings this in his Brolly-Brolli-Broli-Burori voice, then I will gladly shine all of his shoes with my own saliva and hankie. :)

...

(Not to sound weird...)

EDIT: On a serious note, I just realized how much I can't wait for the full version at the end of the series to be dubbed in English.

Thanks for the screen capture Levlik! I want to see more! So far I'm not sold on the remastering...it looks a bit blurry, but I'd like to see a few more comparisons before final judgment.

Wow, Broly's Va is a singer? They really didn't put his talent to use in the past, did they.

The picture looks a little better. Not so grainy. How does the end credits look for Hitori Janai and Don't You See? Are the Japanese staff credited in those as well, and are there textless songs included for the four songs?

He's done many vocals for FUNimation.
