Next episode previews are rare things on famous animes for some reason... Sailor moon, DBZ and GT, but I'll live.

The colors seem exactly the same across the board. All that seems different in the Remastered is the smoothness, but this time with minimal to no loss of detail. Nice.
Am I the only one that thinks they softened the image a little too much?, I know they had to do something to it to justify the "remastered" label, but I think it's a bit of a step backwards.

Though compared to their treatment of DBZ, it's absolutely fantastic.

These sets will be mine. I don't mind Super Hardcore GT Logo, or doing some wonky things with the eyecatches or Previews (although I like them).

English DAN DAN is love.

The eye catchers thing has been a problem since the single releases. I noticed this when I got my Dragon Boxes and realized the eye catchers are actually a bit longer.

Edit: Mother of god, the remastered portion is blurry as hell.

Wait, so Toei gave these to FUNi this way?

I guess that makes this SLIGHTLY better.

The old singles that I have are for later episodes and the eyecatcher problem isn't there. Does that mean this problem is only for the first few episodes?

EDIT: I cannot stop listening to these damn English songs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed it.

But as I said before, they had to tinker with something so they could call it "remastered"

Oh haha, I'm a dimwit.

I forgot that the FIRST eyecatchers are two seconds shorter than the second eyecatchers since the second repeats a tone in the first part.

Guess that's just regular FUNi shenanigans again.

Listened to the English and Japanese "Dan Dan Kokoro" and I have to say, really good job.

I'm still forever going to associate Mr. Mignogna with Edward Elric (which gives amusing mental images of Ed at a karaoke bar whenever I hear an opening sung by him) but yeah, good vocal match for the song.

Going to look for the English ending song.
On hiatus.

I don't know about you, but the minute and pixel-counting differences between resolutions of DVD footage are by far less important than not using the original Japanese footage that they have, and instead showing us their dub titles while I'm trying to watch my Japanese version.

The title cards are particularly jarring for me, and I find it to be VERY important thanks.

It's especially bothering when you know even the Dragon Balls on the title card were digitally added in, making them appear in different locations than the ones in the Japanese cards.

That ALWAYS bothered the nitpicky side of me with Z.

Thing is, FUNi does have GT's next-episode-previews, audio & all. Toei supplied them with the episodes in their masters, they were included on all of the previous R1 single releases. There's literally no reason to exclude them, FUNi did dub the previews also for the previous releases, so synching separate language audio tracks with one video wouldn't be a problem here. Why call these season sets uncut if they're just gonna remove all this material that is available to them, which they've included on prior releases as we all know, it makes zero sense.

Remember, Mike brought this up a long time ago. FUNi's idea of "uncut" is different from ours. If it involves no visual snipping of the episode itself, as in the meat of the series (not the opening, ending, title card or eye catcher), then it is uncut. Paint edits don't count towards "uncut" because there's that whole "lol we never said it wouldn't have any edits. Image"

That's not nearly enough to make me pass on these, though, since FUNimation has just done a grade-A job here and I want to support this. This treatment makes me extremely excited for Dragon Ball's eventual release.
Do the singles have next episode previews?

I have two questions either no one has mentioned it or I missed it but I wanted to know.

1) Are there any issues with the disappearing lines

2) Does the new gt logo appear on both the Japanese/English tracks or just the dub because I prefer the original

4:3 fottage, English audio with original musics, Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku in English...

It seems that the Blue Water dub finally lost its post

So if you want to purchase GT dvd's only for the sole purpose of subbing your Dragonboxes, it is better to get the singles?

Yes, because the next episode previews have subtitles.

You might want to look in at Madman if you don't mind getting R4's (you only want them to rip the subtitles) with the Australian dollar in the dumps at the moment, the price cut and Madman's cheap international shipping, you'll probably come out ontop price wise.
