I think the concept art, aside from Armored Porn Star Piccolo, looks awesome. Retooled, sure, but definitely keeping with the martial arts theme and realizing that they have to work with real life people.

That might not be Piccolo though, but it's probably him. Still, it'd be cool if Armored Porn Star was a demon summoned up by Piccolo. I mean, it kind of looks like a retooled Drum/Tambourine.

About those designs, they're not real. The guy who made them cant show the ones he used for the movie, so in the video he shows some personal designs he made, but not for the movie.
So those sketches are authentic but are not related to the movie.

Seems like too much of a coincidence that those images were chosen in relation to a Dragonball interview and then they're claimed to not have any relation to Dragonball. I think it's just an excuse.

The fact that everyone else but you accepted the fact that they "aren't related to the movie." is hilarious. Of course those designs were related to the movie.

My thoughts exactly, he needed to distance the work from the actual film concepts, so he stated the drafts were "unrelated".

Anyway, I think the drawings are absolutely terrible, so whatever.

It isn't really a big deal. I just thought I'd point that out. This place has been using its monthly bandwidth up hardcore the past few months. I figure that when I come here I might as well contribute instead of sucking up all the bandwidth by lurking.

Have new fans just been lurking around here lately? Because I can't think of anything other than the "live action movie" that could possibly cause the forum to crash once a month.

I mean it never used to do this.

Season sets are also doing the trick.

Ah, of course. ^^;

I have such a scattered collection of dbz singles dvd's to begin with that I've had barely any drive to buy these sets. (Also, come back here and redub Season 3 like Mr. Sabat and Mr. Strait did, Mr. Schemmel!.....please?)

People like to lurk around the daizex forums for their own reasons, I suppose. ^^;

I hope that once/if the "movie" comes out in March/April/at all these forums don't start crashing every other day. @_@

There's also that whole "new special" thing that's brought a lot of traffic to the forum....perhaps you've heard of it? :wink:

The forum tends to crash near the end of the month (probably cuz there's a limited amount of bandwidth each month). The live action movie comes out early in the month, so it probably wouldn't crash right away (hopefully!)

I know I lurked like hell before I actually got the courage to join. But that was mainly because I didn't really have anyone to talk to about Dragon Ball stuff (most people I know know it by the whole "hardcore" image FUNi presented with the dub).

Sure enough, I felt right at home here and not only got to have and take part in great conversations, but also got to interact with fellow fans of different backgrounds (both in the world and how they got involved with Dragon Ball).

I would think that if anyone who hasn't somehow gotten into Dragon Ball before and watches the movie might consider coming here to converse with fans of the actual series to note any differences and what not.

I lurked for almost a year before I actually signed up, but I tend to lurk on forums instead of actually posting, Daizex seems to be the exception.

I'm not saying that lurking is universally horrible. I just feel better personally to contribute to the conversation since I'll be around eating bandwidth either way.

The other blog's alluding to the trailer still not being ready and that it may not be airing with The Day the Earth Stood Still: http://www.dragonballmovieblog.net/

Fox needs to mimic WB in every way possible.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

So the movie comes out in APRIL and they still don't have a trailer for it? I bet you that shit they showed back in October was the actual trailer but they saw how much hate it got and panicked. I bet you this movie is going to end up getting canceled or something.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.
