AWA Videos (Pro, DDR, RVGP)

Post by VegettoEX » Sun Sep 26, 2004 11:47 pm

Back from Atlanta. Exhausted. Haven't even written descriptions yet for the videos. There's three of them. Then I have to upload them. Aiya.

Long story short?

Pro video won "Best Angst." DDR video went over great. RVGP video is getting tons of really nice positive feedback, and got a great response at the con.

Look for more words and pretty pictures and... err... the videos, themselves... later. I'm going to bed.

The three videos have been uploaded. Won't say more in this post than what I'm already typing. Happy to answer questions, etc, though in future posts. Tired.

If my mind were a worthwhile award show, your Ryu video would take home the gold.

Sex, Lies, & Roses was incredible. Is it me? Is it True? is my favorite song from the new Midtown album, and right now it's actually my favorite song, period. ^^ So this means I'm biased. I'm sure I'd still find this video mind-blowing either way.

The lyrics and mood of the song fit so perfectly both on the exterior and interior to the point where the abundance of hidden meanings make me surprised you don't have some cliche beret on your head (artiste?) for me to smack off. Or... something. Which is a good thing, I would think. Best AMV I've seen in ages.

I'm not a rabid fan of Street Fighter, but I enjoyed the video. Great use of effects and combining the games with the anime to add to the story. The DDR video was just great, light humor. I can't imagine the effort the two of you put into special effects.

Wow...

I always thought he was talking about Akuma...I don't know where the hell I got that idea.

The Dragon Ball video just oozes with quality. Way to set the bar ridiculously high for the rest of us. :P

As soon as Jeff finishes the Cell Game track. He's coming to get all the source footage on Wednesday, so hopefully next month it'll all be done :D.

I'm confused, I thought all the videos were finished and it premiered at AWA?

We played a "beta" that didn't have the Cell Game track at our panel. Every other track (16 of 17) is completely done.

I've seen the first two before, but they were each a pleasure to watch again. The Ryu video is really fun, too. :D

I just wanted to directly respond to this quote because it means a lot ^^. It's cool that someone could pick up on all the little metaphors and such we went for. Personally, my favorite is the "de-flowering" that takes place...

You sure as hell used a few nice effects in the "Enter The Dragon" vid. Awesome vid, with timing, maybe 1 or 2 off. The quality was great. The James Bond thing with all the characters being zoomed in on and changing the color of the screen was alright, the arrow thing didn't appeal to me much. I only liked it's usuage when Tien had slapped it out the way. The intro was Gai was somewhat funny. The lip sync was off some. It looked like you caught on after the first word. The animation with Goku was cool, but the cutting could've been better. It seemed like he was cut out bad. The ending was awesome with the announcer. I found him lip syncing funny.

Great vid , Vegetto, man. =D

I'm curious as to what timings and lip-synchs you felt were off; everything was done to exact frames. Also, it's a video for the... well... DDR project, so tons of arrows and DDR jokes are almost a prerequisite for the videos!

And I dare anyone to do better cut-outs and masking than Meri did. :P

Glad you enjoyed it, though!

I also noticed some of the Budokai Announcer's lip syncs did seem a bit off.
Although, its one of those things you wouldnt notice unless you were looking for them.

When the announcer had said "Awesome Technique". Chichi's hand movement was off some at "00:34".Another at "1:21" was another. The clip looked as if it changed too fast or too slow.

Nice audio editing job, btw.

Also, about the Meri part. Which one of you used the clip of Goku showing off twice? dun dun dun... Some people may not of seen it, but I saw that clear as day. lol =D

Was Gai-sensei part of your DB DDR video, or the person before? I thought it was hillarious, whether he was or not! XD
