The Kamehameha at the end looked a bit hokie, but other than that, it shows more promise than I expected... I like Piccolo's flying ship and how it looked like the one in the manga!

Because an explosion is supposed to be depicted differently in a live action film?

The 'fangasming' stemmed from the belief that we wouldn't have any grand-scale level of destruction eye-candy. Atleast, that's my reasoning.

I don't think it has to look different, I don't think it looks bad, I just don't understand what's so noteworthy about it. It's just an explosion. It reminds of the time someone commented that they thought they did a good job making the movie desert look like a desert...

It's noteworthy because it's a Dragonball film. A Dragonball film set in the Piccolo Daimou arc; where grand levels of destruction are abound for the first time. With all the info and sneak peeks we've received with Wong's 'disasterpiece' thus far, it's easy for the casual or avid fan to accuse the film of merely portraying closed-quarter combat scenes only or for the most part. In short, it's a surprise that we'll be seeing something like that in this particular adaptation of Dragonball.

If an analogy should be presented..erm.. I guess you could say it's like living the life of a poor hopeless sap rummaging through garbage, and discovering an unopening package of hot food.

Chris Sabat is doing the movie trailer voice over.
If challenge had a taste, you'd be quite delicious.

You better be joking...

FlashDude say what you will about this movie but you gotta admit seeing Piccolo blow up a city (on his airship) was the last thing you expected to see in this movie.

I've used the same analogy! On this forum, no less. Well... Mine with a starving man and bread crumbs... I've also thrown in Oliver Twist and the the 'can I have some more', but that's all in the past...

I guess I see your point. I'll sit over here in my negativity corner, sorting my bread crumbs by size and degree of mold.

Isn't he supposed to be voicing the Dragon too?

I love me some Chris Sabat. He could dub the entire movie for all I care.

I would watch at least part of that, if only to hear him use his "Armstrong's Sister" voice for Mai, Chi-Chi, or Bulma.
(Couldn't watch all of it though; the novelty would probably wear off 20 minutes in.)

Infact a "dub" of this movie with Funi's VA's would be at least interesting to me. (Still hoping Toei's VA team gets to dub the movie in Japanese).
On hiatus.

If you want I'll share a portion of my unopening package of food, but ask for more and I'll lynch you. :)

The new footage looks pretty good compared to what we've seen before, mostly because the action looks a bit better. Hopefully the fights are choreographed well, and the CG doesn't look too low-budget.I'm far beyond the point of hoping for a faithful Live-Action Dragonball film, because I'm of the opinion that it just can't be done. I'll be fine if I get a good action movie out of this.

HOLY CRAP PICCOLO BLEW UP A CITY

Hot damn, this is the one I've been waiting for. Special effects and fights look great, and on the scale we'd expect them to.

If there's anything the man can do, it's voice-overs.

Definitely good news. I actually never doubted there'd be a decent Kamehameha. I mean if Fox can't scrounge at least that much up with their Special Effects, you know?

I'm happy to say I was dead wrong about Piccolo's color. People tried to tell me about the after editing but I was in sore disbelief.

Don't get me wrong I still think this movie will suck and be a disgrace that makes Season 3 of the Dub look faithful. But atleast they got Piccolo green.

Confirmed? What about him as Shenlong?

Why is it whenever something like this comes out, I'm in a position where I'm unable to view the video for several hours.

From what I've heard, a few people are surprised about the content of the trailer, it sounds interesting, but as somewhat of a purist my feelings towards the movie are never going to change,I'll hate it, but I'll still see it on it's opening day because I'm a nerd like that.

This has always been my stance. Just because it'll be a terrible DragonBall movie, doesn't meane it'll be a terrible "movie"...This could very well be a highly entertaining movie. But as "DragonBall"...no.

Watched it a bit more, and I realized that poor Yamcha is no where to be seen...
I find it oddly appropriate that Yamcha's getting screwed over.

And are Chatku's eyes going red maybe a hint at something we've seen before?

And I think you can actually hear him in the trailer, saying "Dragonball Evolution" when the title comes over the screen. Or maybe I'm hearing things.

I just finished watching it, the Piccolo airship moment is the first time anything released for this movie has actually made me think of Dragonball, instead of some bad Karate kid/Power Rangers crossover.

The rest of the trailer was pretty "meh" but knowing there is actually some large scale destruction in this movie, makes me a little more interested in seeing it.
