No english subs. People in Spain are absolutely horrible at english, why should they bother putting English subs on the dvds xD?

I played the one single I own at the moment on three computers and a region-free DVD player and I didn't notice any issues. Although I'm not sure that I fully understand the question about the "PAL pitch", are you talking about A/V synchronization?

PAL framerate is higher than NTSC, and Dragonball is made in NTSC. thus, to match said framerate, the video/audio in most PAL videos is sped up. I'm probably missing some details, I still don't get it... but I hope you understand me. Basically, the way to tell is this: does Cha-La sound unnaturally sped up?

They look great but I'd prefer the Mexican dub instead. So Spain has the rights to the Dragon Box? So.........why doesn't Mexico!? They dubbed DBZ and have most of the original audio and etc.

This edition suffers of ghosting effect (due to the NTSC to PAL conversion) and some compression artifacts in some scenes (but the Funimation singles are even worse with those artifacts...)
Those screenshots show pretty well how the namek saga looks too blurry, but the image quality is improved during the Freeza battle till the Majin Boo saga (now the spanish release has reached the vol. 28 )
I think the Saiyan saga was the best in term of image quality (, but somehow they decide to start applying horrible noise-reduction filters in the vol.6
And no, they are not using Dragon Box masters. This edition have some film dirt (like the Season Sets) but it comes directly from Japan (So, it's not the AB Group master used in France) and it preserves pretty well the Dragon Box colours, at leat much better than the Season Sets do

Oh, and that image comparison in the booklet is false. the image restauration process cannot be reflected properly in a printed paper. They just do that with promotional purposes

They took the Japanese master and made a new PAL master from it conserving the integrity on the footage according to ZonaDVD. To me it looks and sounds amazing. I noticed no issues... But now I'm paranoid and will spot-check it when I get home.

I was browsing Fry's Electronics' anime section and I was amazed to see the "Ultimate Uncut single that was never released". It was the next release in FUNi's Mexican Spanish release. I never picked any of those up, but from what I hear they use the "remastered widescreen". So they're out there but it's as shitty as our season sets. It's a shame that Mexico doesn't have the rights to release their own DVDs without FUNi's say-so. I'd love to see a good and legal release of the Mexican dub.

Dragon Ball was published by Manga Films about 1-2 years ago. It is edited, no japanese audio track, no subtitles and low image quality.
Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT are being published right now by Selecta Vision with uncut footage, japanese audio and remastered video
It's very possible Selecta Vision will publish Dragon Ball and DB movies in a near future with the same technical specification of their DBZ/GT releases
