As in "Kamehameha" wave? Or like how he says it in the season sets and new games?

Kah*pause*Meyha*pause*Meyha.

As opposed to

Ka*Me*Ha*Me*Ha.

*edit:
It's actually more like Kah-may*Ha-may*Ha.

I can't decide if the movie pronunciation bugs me more than the dub's old "kamayamaya".

I have decided that neither bugs me as much as "....................cool."

Either way, I can't wait to hear what the podcast has to say on the trailer this weekend.

Nothing nice I bet. They'll just slide over it like they always do.
I completely respect your opinion, and I respect you. I enjoyed discussing this with you, even if I don't completely agree.

I assumed they didn't talk about the movie much because there's at least two big blogs (that I know of) devoted to the movie and it was sort of like how when Kanzentai updates something, its less for Daizex and vise versa.

I could be incorrect though.

I hope they do talk a little about it; I'm curious to know what they think because they haven't talked much about it.

If what some people have said is true and they're going to have Piccolo Daimao simply become Piccolo jr. then maybe the Mafuba will be changed so that it doesn't trap the person but rather remove their evil side.
I can see them doing that, esspecially if they referred to the dub where the move is called the "Evil Containment Wave".

Just a thought.

The current dub doesn't even get it right.

"Kameyhamey-yah" when saying it fast and "Kameyhamey-ha" when saying it slowly. :?

Leaves one to wonder just how difficult is it really for people to figure out how to actually pronounce the attack name?

You know, a few people here certainly have made some interesting assumptions about how we will feel about the movie, and there's almost nothing for them to make these assumptions on. I find it pretty ridiculous that there's almost this entire pre-conceived notion on what we're going to say :P.

Furthermore, you no longer need us telling you every time a cast member updates their blog or has a picture in a magazine saying they worked on the movie. Release dates? Official trailers? Sure, we'll talk about that.

The trailer looks interesting to say the least. It's weird seeing Piccolo wearing black leather, haha. I like his voice, though.

It's the new trailer, but someone put it to We Gotta Power. It's actually kind of cool.

-Even thought it wasn't in the trailer, HIGH SCHOOL.
I'm not trying to start another "High School" debate, but I'm guessing that if it isn't in the trailer, then it probably isn't a big aspect of the movie.

I'm not going to lie...

"Ka-me-ha-me-ha" and "Kah-may*Ha-may*Ha" are practically the same thing to me. It just seems like the first one, you cut of the syllables quicker.

And I agree with what Kaboom said earlier. Those "Gods from the stars" or whatever seem to be ancient civilization speak for aliens. However, I wasn't thinking saiyans. I was thinking possibly Nameks?

I thought that was the plot from the get-go. Piccolo tried to invade the world with an evil demon army, failed, and was imprisoned...

How'd Saiyans get pulled into this? Roshi also states "now the evil has returned" followed by a shot of Piccolo landing on the ground. I can't imagine any way this could possibly be more clear.

I'm wondering where Daimao got the "demonic army" from in the first place. I mean, he isn't even a demon himself. So maybe it was just a group of rogue aliens, like Freeza's soldiers.

If I had any faith this movie wanted to be like the original, I'd say he just barfed them into existence.

The actually quote was, however, recently re-posted in this thread...

Piccolo is the cursed ruler of a demonic race who nearly destroyed Earth 2000 years ago, and with the coming of the eclipse and the possession of all seven Dragon Balls, he's prepared to free himself and do the job right this time. Crafty and smart, Piccolo has some disturbing news for Goku, namely that the boy is actually a Saiyan who's destined to join Piccolo as his right hand in destroying and enslaving the planet...LEAD

Er, what? He was so a member of the Demon Clan. He caused souls to wander the earth endlessly and everything. He spawned demons, too. Piano, Cymbal, Tambourine....sound familiar?

Not to defend the movie or anything, but when Dragon Ball was made, Daimao was a demon. The idea of him being an alien wasn't conceived until Nappa notices that the voice from the other end of the Scouter a year before was from a Namekian.

The Mazoku were basically a clan of demons run by Daimao.

Although he didn't intend on destroying the planet. He wanted to conquer it.

I think that you're misunderstanding me. He may have been a member of that clan, but was he born a demon? He may have raised himself in the image of a demon, just like Son Goku was raised in the image of a human. But he, of course, is not a natural demon.

C'mon, does it really surprise you that these writers heard "alien race of peaceful farmers" and thought "demons waging war against Earth"?

This is something else that bothered me. What would "Movie Daimao" do after he destroyed the planet? Where would he go? And the fact that he probably wouldn't survive the explosion makes it look like a bad plan.

It really does surprise me. And who said that every last Namekian wanted to wage war?

"With this Dragonball, I take my vengeance upon the Earth."

Vengeance doesn't necessarily mean 'destroy'. He can still have his vengeance by ruling the planet and forcing everyone to follow him.

Technically we don't know if the other 'gods from the sky' are Namekian. It's as easily possible, perhaps even more likely, that Piccolo's cohorts in the backstory are his usual Fulum/Demons.
