I wonder if it will be for sale soon since it's Christmas. I personally think $50 is a good deal for 34 episodes. Just imagine back in the day when you had to pay $20 for 3 (4 if your lucky) episodes. So for like $60 you have 9 episodes, while only for $50 you have 34 episodes. That's not a fucking rip-off. I'd say that's a rip off to them lol.

Wal-mart usually has it for 30-35 dollars, try them or price match at Best Buy.

About this eye-catcher issue, what exactly is the problem people are having? Because on my sets, the eye-catchers are intact with audio... So could someone post a Dragon Box eye-catcher video, just to show what they are supposed to be like?

And add DVDPacific to that list for $ 28.49

I always order the season sets from DVDPacific, and I've never had any trouble with it :) And they have free shipping within the US (wish it would also be like that for us Europeans :( Ah well :p)

The audio's shorter on the first three episodes but normal on episodes 4-34.

I disagree, from what I could see, the opening was the same extremely oversaturated version that FUNi had in the "creditless opening"-extra on the singles, and I always thought it looked terrible. I mean, in the part where they fly into the sky after Goku catches that fish, the sky went from purple to clear blue. That's just as bad as the sky changing from green to blue in the Goku/Vegeta-fight back in DBZ season one.

Should have went to FYE this weekend. Boxset, anime and other shows, were buy one get one free. Then on Sunday, they were to have all anime buy one get one half off. I picked up Z season 7 and GT season 1 for a total of $50. I wold never have even went into an FYE because their so expensive, but they had The Dark Knight on sale with a really good mail-in rebate.

Honestly, FYE's a terrible place to buy DVDs that aren't on some kind of sale that don't require you to buy something else in addition.

There are definitely much better solutions.

I just checked my International Channel recordings of the first 2 episodes of GT. On the second episode the eye-catcher had its audio cut down in the middle of the music like the season set.

See? I knew it wasn't a FUNi-caused problem.

Doesn't make it any less unfortunate, but it's better they got the material that way rather than cutting it for the "lolz."

I laughed as well. It should have said:

GT: Meh, it was allright I guess.

I get the same kind of impression

For what its worth, at least I made a successful hybrid with the new dub and the Dragon Box footage. Sweet, no more bitching from me. Its very cool how the audio matches up perfectly. Its' too bad that there are no next episode previews. I was subbing my GT, so I thought, might as well make a hybrid. Very glad it came out well. I'm going to try this out with Z, and have my self a hybrid Z set, which will take me a few months to complete.

Yes, that's a big relief. I was still gonna buy the sets either way, but at least now I feel a little better for it.

That sounds awesome. I still want to hear how the new-music dub sounds... since you're the most video-savvy one as of late, would you mind sharing some clips? :D

Okay, looked at my Dragon Box.

Snip in eyecatcher cutting to commercial break:
Episode 1, Episode 2, Episode 3

Snip in eyecatcher returning from commercial break:
Episode 2, Episode 3

The eyecatchers are then played in full starting with episode 4. Funny thing is that the return from the break for episode 1 kinda plays into the following scene for a second as Kaio begins to speak. So that's likely why they started clipping the return audio at first before they got some sort of proper pacing.

Here you go. Sorry it took some time, I had to rip and encode, and eat, lol.
This is not DVD quality, but it should suffice.
