Well, I went Christmas shopping this afternoon and as usuall, I ended up buying something for myself... I found the Super Saiyan version of that big Goku figure that I got at Animenext 2008...

Dramatic pose...

I was pretty sure the bodies where the same but for some reason, the Super Saiyan version looks a bit smaller. No? Yes? I don't know...

The box is pretty much the same as the non Super Saiyan version, they look nice next to each other...

Iam actually a little dissapointed with the paint job. From far away its not that bad but, if you actually look at it....

I think it really looks nice until you really closely examine that one eye...
...It wouldn't really be a problem for me, but I am hardly a figure-collector.
In other recent purchases stuff, my used copy of "King Piccolo Pt. 1" just arrived. There are little imperfections along the plastic of the case, but that's nothing that swapping the discs and artwork into a new casse won't fix. The discs themselves are in perfect condition as far as I can tell, couldn't find a single scratch on 'em. So I'm happy. I do hope my other four sets arrive soon.

Gohan: At least he doesn't have his sword out anymore.
Kuririn: Yeah, and your dad put his finger away too.

I bought mine from an Amazon Marketplace seller. I just checked, and apparently, the King Piccolo Vol. 1 over there has gone up $30 since mine shipped a week and a half ago. I feel pretty damn lucky, for some reason there were two or three there that were being sold for $30-40 for a bit, but now it's back to $60.Krakabeast wrote: What site are you buying those sets from?
Anyway, since "Amazon Marketplace" is basically just a bunch of places selling through the insurance and good name of Amazon, you can't really be sure of what quality you'll get. Still, as long as I've sent items back right away for Amazon's 30-day satisfaction guarantee, even a bad-quality purchase can get refunded.
Also, odd tidbit. Though I paid $30-some dollars for the King Piccolo Pt. 1, it came with a $117 price tag sticker. xD

Check the Tournament and Red Ribbon sets, they have it quite a bit worse.Krakabeast wrote:Look at this!Super Ghost Kamikaze wrote:I bought mine from an Amazon Marketplace seller. I guess used is the way to go. I was planning on finally getting these sets. I wish I picked them up in Suncoast when I was younger. I'll be getting at least one set in new condition because I'm not a fan of buying used items, even though used items are still in great condition. I love peeling the plastic off with my nails and sniffing the new box smell.

Today I picked up:
Dragon Ball: The Saga of Goku for free (Voulume 1)
Dragon Ball: The Saga of Goku for $4.88 (Voulme 2)
Dragon Ball GT: The Lost Episodes for free (Reaction)
I found these 3 DVDs over at a used movie store. I had a cupon so I got 2 of the DVDs for free! Saga of Goku was $2.88 and the GT DVD was $3.88. Pretty good deal if you ask me. :D
Edit:
So I took back the 2 Dragon Ball DVDs after learning they're the crappy 95 dub. I bought the History of Trunks and Cooler's Revenge instead.

I just got the Dragonball Dragonbox singles 1-9. I have a video showing them off on YouTube:

I'll get some pics of the cases and discs when I post again in the "Show off Your Dragonball Crap" thread.
I also just recently got the Hardcover Editions of Dragonball and Dragonball Z from VIZ.
