Dragon Ball Z Gaming Retrospective
I'm working on a Dragon Ball Z Gaming retrospective where I will go over many DBZ games and discuss what makes them unique. This project is going to take several weeks and some dedication, and I'm willing to put forth the effort. However, I would like some opinions.
Can you give me any pointers? What would you like to see in a DBZ retrospective? What are your favorite features in any Dragon Ball Z game? Which ones should I cover? Which ones should I leave out?
If anybody has any expertise or tidbits they can share, I'd love to hear that as well.

Here's an example of what NOT to do.
That being incorrect pronunciations all over the place, incorrect information all over the place ("over twenty games!"), etc.
OK, so the information isn't horribly wrong, but it contradicts itself all over the place (like the number of games, and then not clarifying that until the end with Japanese & European releases, yet using European cover art for games the entire time). It's just terribly inconsistent, and the incorrect pronunciations just drive it way the Hell down for me.

Haha! Great tip. I actually had just finished doing that when I read your post.Pitzu wrote:I would suggest looking over at Gametrailers.com and watching their retrospectives for pointers
Yikes. That guy is clearly not a fan. The quality of my video is already shaping up to be much better than that one, I'm sure of it. But thanks for showing me that video.VegettoEX wrote:Here's an example of what NOT to do.

The pronunciations and facts will be checked, double checked, triple checked, and quadruple checked.
Wait for DBO to come out.
But seriously(well, the above statement is sort of serious), I'd probably lump the Tenkaichi/Sparking! series as one whole rather than doing it individually, as their changes are minimal. The Budokai games, however, have enough differences to give all three games some talk. My favorite aspect of DBZ games are Tournament modes. I dunno, just a sense of accompishment I get. "OH MAN I NEED TO UNLOCK ADEPT MODE AND THEN CELL GAMES GONNA TAKE ON EVERY CHARACTER WITH KRILLIN." But that's just me.
And probably leave out the CCG games unless you're gonna go over their massive flaws. Well, save for Legendary Super Warriors.

And here's how you be more mindful of your international visitors.VegettoEX wrote:Here's an example of what NOT to do.
Anyway, for stuff to talk about, I'd definitely recommend spending some time on the main mode for each game (story, etc.). Breaking them down, looking at their individual pros and cons, and how they compare to other DB games' main modes.
I'd also like to see you take a look at how the tournament modes have evolved throughout the years: multiple players, different levels and their function in the games.

Don't be afraid to split your video into many parts. I'd love to see a really in depth retrospective.

It's missing a lot of recent games but it has a lot of great details on the older ones.
