I still really like the new Kame House. That is the kind of re-interpretation that I can stand and really enjoy. It gives movie Roshi that sense of the strange, adventurous, and the magically fantastic. And frankly, I love it and hope that this indicates something of a trend for this film.

The darker Goku personality I do not like. And Movie Roshi's look is not a re-interpretation of Roshi, it's just getting it *wrong*. But as for the house, it's really cool with me.

To me, it seems this movie will fail mostly because people want it to fail, not because it "will" be "bad". It doesn't seem to matter whether the movie is good or bad, for all we know right now, the movie could end up being great, but since there are so many people convinced it IS bad, and it will be "HORRIBLE" it won't matter if it is good or bad, it will still fail, because these people will tell others not to see it because it is "BAD" or "STUPID".

It will be a combination of that, terrible marketing, and because it simply isn't Dragon Ball Z. A lot of casual fans I've talked to are upset because Piccolo is evil, Vegeta isn't in it, and there won't be any Super Saiyans. Even if it truly is a terrible adaption, Dragon Ball fans will still go and see it because we're kind of obligated to. The casual movie goer though...I doubt it.
